I tried the search, but ono previous posts came up.  Has anyone here tried out the FlightScope Mevo yet?

If so, were iron and driver distances seemingly accurate?

I don't own one, but used one of my playing partner's. It was very accurate. At least as accurate as I could confirm it with a laser rangefinder (Sig Sauer Kilo2000).

Thanks much!  Did it audibly call out the yardages after each strike, or do you have to look at the app?

We used the app, and it read out the numbers.

It was on the course, so my partner had likely turned off all the sounds prior to the round?

Thanks - you're probably right.  I didn't see anything related to this on the FlightScope Mevo FAQ page either way.

Take a look at this comparison someone did using Foresight CG2 (which I trust the most). Note that radar units, including very expensive ones, are a bit more optimistic about the user's ability than GC2. . .

Hey, thanks a lot!  Some of those numbers are all over the place.  Interesting to say the least.

I wish they would close the launch angle debate out with a rough manual measurement by just estimating the actual launch angle from the spot where the ball was struck to the height it hit on the impact screen.

I was thinking the exact same thing. . .

I'm in the process of putting in a hitting bay in my basement (impact screen, projector, putting green, and range mat) and I was going to mark standard launch angles (e.g. 10*, 12*, 14*) on the side wall, right at the edge of the impact screen.  At least it'll give me a rough estimate.

Nice setup!

My golf net is collecting spiderwebs and this Jasmine Vine is starting to creep all over it. . .I use it for storing unwanted items that I can't get myself to throw out yet as well.

Then again, I get free range balls and access to a pretty nice short game area a few minutes from my work.

Thanks!  You definitely have the win... I would give anything for a decent short game practice area at a local course.  We just have a putting green with a 'No Chipping' sign.  Around here you have to join a country club to get access to those kinds of facilities!

Another pic with the projector enclosure installed... At least it'll keep me moving in the winter.

Your setup is really nice. Actually, I think it'd be nice to practice in a temperature and insect controlled environment.

The short game practice area near my work is pretty nice, but there are practice facilities near me where you'd really wonder what they were thinking? Overgrown with 8 inches of grass in the chipping area and a lumpy driving range with odd angles and lies? It can be pretty bad. I might as well just bring my wedges with me when I go hiking in the local mountains. . .

That's pretty funny!  Maybe taking up hiking should be my route to practicing the short game...

I'm in the process of reviewing the Mevo. It's been quite nice for me so far… with the metallic stickers on it.

I haven't tested it outdoors yet.

The first one showed 1000 RPM spin on the GC2?

If that was the case I don't think the Mevo was the one at fault.

Great!  I'm very interested in hearing your thoughts on it out on the range and on the course in particular.

My current thought is that the SkyTrak would be great for me indoors, but isn't that portable and reputedly doesn't read balls well in the sun.

The Mevo may be just the thing for the range, and more importantly for practice rounds on the course.

That thought crossed my mind too. . .but I figured it could have also been just the person misreading the numbers before reporting it to the camera. . .  :-D

I thought, boy, probably gonna need a lot of stickers. They got it covered.

How many do you need to stick on a ball?

What about the GC2 makes you trust it the most? I remember they used to have it at a local store and it always had me hitting fades. I had a +12 path back then.

One, I think?
