I seem to have a problem with golf shoes wearing out very fast. I to tend to over rotate on the downswing which causes my right foot to go over on the toe slightly. Now as a result I am going through shoes fast. I bought a pair of dry joys about 7 months ago and they are wrecked. Friction has worn away the entire toe area and there is now a hole forming, so time for new shoes.

The obvious answer is of course to fix my swing, slow the tempo or swing a little less but that's an ongoing battle.

Does anyone have a good durable, strong option they recommend?

I had always played golf shoes with leather "uppers" and they were extremely comfortable but were subject to wear and tear from repeated use.  Last year in October, the sole on one of my fairly expensive leathers actually separated from the rest of the shoe and they had to be replaced after .  Where I live, the golf stores are down to very little choice late in the season so trying to find a size that fit me I went with a pair of low end Foot Joy "Green Joys", which have synthetic uppers.  All I wanted was to play a few rounds with them until the new shoes came out in the winter.  It turns out I have kept them and played about 30 rounds and had about 40 practice sessions and there isn't a scuff or wear mark anywhere.  Of course they have been discontinued, but you may want to give a synthetic shoe a try.

I will take a look at the green joys. I always associated leather shoes with better quality and longevity but clearly that isn't always the case. Thanks for the suggestion, I will check green joys out.

Maybe you should stop overrating?

But I dunno. I usually buy a couple pairs off year golf shoes when i find a model i like. Rotating them around makes them all last longer. I bought three pairs of Nike Lunar control 3 this year for around $60 each. Ill probably end up gaming those for years.

Decided to go with Callaway Hurricane winter boots, I looked at the FootJoy winter boots, but this years have a suede toe. Why on earth would they put suede on a winter boot??

I'll get shoes in summer and then at least have different ones for in and out of season, may slow the damage :)

I like those, I should probably get on line and see if any are available in my size and stock up so I'm covered for a few seasons.

Yeah, that model is a pretty good deal right now. It used to be their top of the line tour shoe. Paid around $180 total for three pairs. Got a white pair, a black pair, and some charcoal/orange combo. They'll last me for at least 2-3 seasons.

I got my last one on clearance for about $35.  I'd gladly get a couple for your price too though.

Since they're bound to get prematurely destroyed, maybe just buy cheaper shoes.

I play in GreenJoys spikeless, they are less than $40 US, if you shop around online. I love them. These replaced an expensive pair of Nike golf cleats, which were my first pair. With the mud and rain out here it's just not worth spending the extra money on nice shoes IMO.
