Day 82: Sep 10

Golf lesson, focusing on Continuing to improve my clubpath & clubface control. It’s getting there for sure - I can focus and deliver an accurate clubpath, but I leave the face open. So been working on over exaggerating the right moves, both during the lesson and later practicing into a net.

Day 17:

Played 18 - tied a personal best with 76. Everything felt sharp, but kind of fumbled the ball on the goal line with 3-putt bogeys on #17 and #18.

Day 130 - Finally got back to the range, wedges and irons were great, driver wasn't. Battling the weird toe ball snap hook.

It started improving towards the end when I focused on left forearm priority piece.

Going to keep working at it this week in prep for a tournament on Sunday.

Did The Stack session tonight too.

Day 316, September 12, 2023

Played nine holes, then went to the range to specifically work on the driver. Just have to really exaggerate one of the things.

    • Day 15 - 2024-10-15 Mirror work. Watched one of my D1 players play today (67, plus -1 on the two holes he played to finish up a second-round 72). Well, you know what to work on… 😄
    • Day 166 (15 Oct 24) - Worked with the 6i into the net today.  Focused on the legs - slight knee bend, keeping pressure on lead foot, getting rotation thru contact.
    • No. The Steelers aren't paying either of them very much. They're not gonna get rid of a SB winning QB in case Justin is injured or something.
    • It could be to exhibit for trade bait.   Some teams may be looking for another QB (Miami) and if Wilson plays well, the compensation could be large.
    • Ball strike is king. You hit with a glancing blow (hook or slice), your smash factor just decreases a ton. Having a face to path angle of like 20 degrees versus something like 3 degrees is huge.  Yea, getting in shape is a good idea all around. Power is moving something heavy really fast. So, increasing how much you can lift, then improving on how fast you can move it will improve your power. In general, I think the two biggest tests for distance is like a chest press and standing vertical high jump. Some people are gifted with fast hands, but having good lower body can amplify what you have. Using the ground the correct way really ramps up the rotation speed, and then that can get the clubhead moving faster. Still, the hands do get down from the top of the backswing really fast.  If you start gaining strength and power gains. Knowing how to use the ground properly is important. You can have all the leg strength, but if you are not activating it correctly it is a waste. That is where good mechanics come into play.
