Day 3:

Spent 5 minutes (12 balls) rolling straight 6 foot putts. Putting to a hole that is 2-3/16" in diameter. I made 6 out of 12.

Then spent 5 minutes in front of a mirror. Working on my priority pieces. (And my set up piece) No ball, just a 7 iron and 2 mirrors. One down the line and one face on.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 19 (misstated the Day # for yesterday , should’ve been day 18) (26 Dec 21) - worked on grip position today.  I tend to keep a weaker grip, so today was about strengthened grip.  Followed it with 3/4 swings with the 7i.  Using the hard foam balls to get good controlled flight.

Day 148:

Played 18 this morning. Started off with clear skies, beautiful day, but very cold. Shot 39 on the front 9. Then the rain started, and heavy stuff started around the 14th hole, soaking the greens and basically making it pointless to putt. Finished with a 43 on the back 9, but that was without putting on 14-18 (counted 2 putts per hole).

Day 4:
A lot of mirror work. Again, 7 iron.
Again mirror down the line and face on.

Trying to work on my priority piece as well as the timing of my shift.

So far I feel like an orangutan performing brain surgery with a tuning fork.

When it starts to feel at all better I'll start hitting balls with it.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

Day 5:
It's only 7AM and I've already done 5 minutes of mirror work. The plan is to get in some chipping and perhaps hit some balls down the range focusing on my priority piece.

Day 57, December 27, 2021

Gave some GEARS lessons for about six hours today. Worked on the backswing and transition for about 12 minutes afterward and before going to Five Guys, where a bacon cheeseburger now costs $11.89. Preposterous.

Day 149:

More rain, so continued indoor practice on hip priority piece and some grip work. Storms supposed to be moving on after today, and I think Mevo+ is arriving tomorrow, so really looking forward to some outdoor full swing work.

Day 6: I had range time today. I focused on my priority piece. I got a bucket of 40 balls. Hit 30 of them with my 6 iron. Slow rehearsals before each swing. At the end I hit 10 with the driver. It took me a little more than an hour to hit the 40 balls. And it was probably less then 10 minutes to hit the last 10 with the driver.
I didn't take any video. So, I REALLY need to do that in my garage.

Tomorrow, more mirror work.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
    • Day 136 12-26 Had a different practice planned today but life happened. Worked on "wide to wide" and still working on remaining flowy. Starting the club head in front of the ball as a drill, is helping with the flow of the swing.
