Day 21: 12/19/2022

I got five minutes in today, but just. I was able to get some mirror work.
Believe it or not I only worked on my backswing in the mirror. 
I'm trying to get my hips and my hands and my arms all just doing the right thing. 

I feel like I'm improving and I want to keep up the progress. Or at worst maintain it. 

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs. 

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Made swings with an 8I downtown. Shortened it up a little (my slow motion ones I like to take back a bit longer so I can see where the shaft is pointing, really exaggerate it a bit).

Day 35 (20 Dec 22) - stork drill (trail foot back, most of weight on lead foot) focused on torso rotation in front of the mirror.   Really helps with confidence that lead foot can handle the pressure.

Day 6 - 9-to-3 swings in the yard with AlmostGolf balls today; 8 or 9 balls  focusing on good ground strike (used a tee to mark ball position) with an in-to-out swing path. Then did 2-3 10-to-2 swings, same objectives.  Mostly acceptable strikes.

Day 36 (21 Dec 22) - Tentative plans to play today got cancelled, so worked on setup drill.  Finished with hitting hard foam balls from varied lies (tight, light rough, uphill, downhill).

Day 51, December 21, 2022

The longest day of the year, and… the shortest practice session (nearly) allowed. Hit about eight balls in about six minutes today before I had to go. Same stuff as usual, but a bit faster. Hit the two or three fast ones really well.

Day 7 - Range-work at North Kingstown Golf Course today. Warmed up with wedge shots (it was 38* when I started and about 41* by the time I was finished) followed by Adam Young's "Sole Spray drill" for ground contact with my 7-iron. Then worked through my fairway woods, hit some drivers (with foot spray on the face) and finished with more 7-irons.

Finished up on the practice green with some putting practice and a 3-hole chip and putt, chipping from different lies around the green (shot a 6, with a chip in).

Had a really good practice session early this morning in the indoor range.

Worked on my priority pieces.
Then I did my distance control putting drill.

      First - glad to see these popping up again. Now to the topic at hand - I would rather be option 1.  If I know how far it's going (I mean a yard or two) I can always play to the wider parts of the fairway and/or the green and still do reasonably well.  Now if I could just really hit the "number" that well.

      Day 2 (10 Mar 25) - Long day of driving to dr appt with son.  Thankfully got in one of my fave putting drills (two ball side by side) - the goal to have both balls come off the putter face equally by having them come off the putter face as close to the same time as possible.  First few rolls - the toe was leading the way as that ball flew off the face.  By the end of the drill both balls were basically equal off the face, rolling to within a couple of inches of each other.  Nice drill of focusing on squaring the face.  BTW - I was using the old Odyssey DF992.

      Day 161 - 2025-03-10 Got a decent, long session in. Focused mostly on the backswing feels, and moved on toward the end of the four hours (not all hitting balls, I installed a motion sensing light switch in there too, and worked with a student over FaceTime for a bit) on the downswing feel.
