Merit golf clubs

I just received these clubs for a Christmas gift and I can't find any information about them. I know that Merit is no longer in busniss but not much else. The club set is single length, 2 tru pw, sw and 60. Anyone  know age, retail cost when new, today's value, any history? Thanks for anything you might have.

I had a set of Merit irons in the mid to late 90's.  I picked them up at a rummage sale/charity auction in Athens for around 40 bucks.  The clubs (3 - SW) were well made, had senior flex graphite shafts, and a curious progressive offset that increased (rather than decreased) as they got shorter.  They were listed in the Maltby Golf Club Guide and quite expensive when new...like $1000 expensive for the top of the line.  All I know about the company is that it was based in Kennesaw (Ga.)  and was part of the "feather-light fad".

Thanks for your response. Quick question, what do you mean by "and a curious progressive offset that increased (rather than decreased) as they got shorter."

Usually shorter clubs have less offset than longer.......

Unlike every other offset irons I have seen; the Merit sand wedge had the most offset and the 4 iron had the least.  It didn't effect the shots, that I could tell, but it looked odd.

By single length are they all the same length as the 7 iron like the Cobra's of today? If so they would be fun to play with and see how you like them. I've tried the single length clubs in the store on the launch monitor, I'm not sold yet, been playing too many years with "standard" length clubs; but I not saying no yet.
