How long does a range typically close to recover from snow?

The range I go to is still closed. It snowed last week but not much, but it has been rainy. It hasn't been opened since Monday. Should have asked but I suspect the grass is too wet to recover balls or there's also some other maintenance issues. Forecast calls for more rain, suspect it's going to be a bit longer before it opens - does this seem to be about right or do ranges with a grass field typically recover sooner?

Some of the ranges in Michigan will hire people to pick up the golf balls by hand if the snow isn't too deep.   There are a few here that stay open year round.

I'm sure each range is different.

The range I frequent floods.  That's probably why it is still a driving range and not condos or a shopping center.  They must have half a million golf balls on hand...the place is always open.

I haven't lived in Winnipeg for 2 months now, but we had an outdoor range all winter. I dont know how well they retrieved balls. We are talking maybe the 2nd coldest decent sized city in the world.

To be honest though, it was nice to hit at. You would never feel cold because of the heaters, but the sun glare coming off the snow meant you couldnt see your ball flight. You almost needed eskimo glasses during the afternoon.

Snow or heavy rain have the same effect.

Our range tees are at the top of the hill, so the deep landing area gets muddy. It's a question of whether the range tractor can pick up balls without getting stuck, or tearing up damp turf.

One range near me in Massachusetts just has a ton of balls. If it snows, they just don't pick them up.
