Is that even real? How can you be that bad? I have worked at a golf course for 15+ years and I have seen some horrid players, but shooting 257, I just don't see how thats even possible. You could putt the ball down the fairway and shoot a lower score than that. I don't even know how can that even be fun? He lost 5 dozen golf balls!

Anything's possible, I mean I could beat this guy using just my putter.

I was not alive when this event happened but believe this is the one my dad told me about, and unless I'm mistaken on the 17th at Sawgrass where he eventually carded a 66, he did eventually use his putter for the entire hole and putted around and up the walkway to reach the green...after hitting 2 dozen balls in the water or so

The guy obviously has some mental game issues. He needs to stop worrying about his mechanics and just swing his natural swing. A good caddie will do him some good, get him out of his own head. Jack Nicklaus could probably shave at least 100 strokes if he was on his bag 😜

lol I remember that well.

What always got me about him was, how could anyone enjoy playing like that? If it were me I would have either taken lessons or threw my clubs away.

I think Fitcat1 played behind this guy, which is why he was so bitter about golf.

    • I generally like par-3 courses and find it a darn shame that the last of them closed in my area during the pandemic. Part of it may have to do with the fact that I never have been very good with the longer clubs, so the short holes are a bit more my speed.  Being able to get in 18 holes in two hours was pretty convenient and, ironically, the lack of crowds made them peaceful places to be. Naturally, that's the same reason they no longer exist around here.  The second option sounds like a whole lot of no fun.
