Hi All,

I am looking for some advice on filling a gap.  I have a driver that is working out great for me. I have also upgraded my 6-9 irons with Cleveland HB Launchers and they've made a great difference for me.  The 5 wood and 5 hybrid I have are from  my beginner set. So...........what do I purchase next to fill the giant gap between my driver and 6?  I was contemplating a 3 wood and cleveland 5 HB. I've also spotted a few 3 woods that are adjustable to 5 woods too.

Any thoughts are more then welcome!

Thanks!

How many clubs are you looking to add, is it just the 2 clubs you have room for? What yardages are you hitting and looking to fill? What's wrong with your current 5 wood and hybrid?

Without knowing much more about your game, I'd suggest looking at a 4 wood and probably a 4 hybrid, that will space out the gap more evenly. If you have more room for clubs, though, you could add a 2 or 3 hybrid, or if you're more comfortable with woods, a 5 wood. Then I'd go with a 3 wood with the 5 wood instead of a 4 wood. It just depends on how your bag is set up.

HI Bill

My budget has room for about 2 clubs at this point. My current 5's are just too clunky and do not have a ladies flex shaft. Plus the grip is just too small for me. Does that info help any with direction?

Thanks for replying!

If your driver is a 12*/13* and your 6 iron is 27*, you have to figure out what gaps need to be filled.  An 18*/19* FW will let you go with a 23* hybrid.  You will lose some fairway distance over a 16*, but it might provide more utility.  You will probably need a 4/5 hybrid regardless because your 6 iron may be lacking distance in more situations.

I've dropped using a 3/4 wood and gone with a 19* fairway and it has worked for me.  But I'm older and not long so a few yards don't matter.
