The best advice I ever recieved is to take a step back and squat down like a catcher to pick some grass before an difficult shot or hitting balls consistantly on the range. I guess the more joints that are able to bend help take away and release tension in muscles.

1) Always take the time to align yourself properly.

2) Have a pre-shot routine and stick with it.

3) Have positive thoughts, feel good about yourself and then take your swing.

All seem simple yet I had to learn the hard way.

Develop the ability to align yourself properly. I went to see my current coach for the furst time - he had me hit 6 or 7 shots, laid a shaft along my "line", and showed me I was aligned 40 yards to the right of my target bon a 150 yard shot !! It's true... - I dropped 4 strokes off my hc in n a month after this...

Anything Bob Rotella has ever said.

For any serious golfer, I think the best tips almost have to be the mental ones.

Anything Bob Rotella has ever said.

After loaning my copy of "Golf is not a Game of Perfect" to someone years ago, I was looking for it and finally ordered a copy off Ebay and I have been reading it for the last two weeks. The best tip for me was to pick the smallest target (ie not the palm trees but a palm tree) and when you start your swing picture the target in your mind.

1) Always take the time to align yourself properly.

These are the best i have heard as well, the first is a big problem for me. Another tidbit i picked up from watching Tiger is something he does when reading his line, cupping his hands around his eyes to shield the sun. Helps me to read the greens.

"Don't worry about it."

Usually it won't sink in, but for the one time out of ten it does, it can help a quivering bag of jello recompose himself before his next shot.

After loaning my copy of "Golf is not a Game of Perfect" to someone years ago, I was looking for it and finally ordered a copy off Ebay and I have been reading it for the last two weeks.

I love that piece of advice. The targets that I pick now are so miniscule that they help me to forget about the fairway because I am so focused on hitting that target.

As for the best advice EVER, keep your head down... It works wonders.

Everytime you address the ball, before you start your back swing say 3 words slowly in your head. "Control, control, control" I read that in Golf Magazine apparently alot of pros do this. I have an issue with tempo and its helped me slow things down. Its amazing what words can do for your psychy.
