Does anyone know how Cobra drivers stand up to stuff like the r7 460 and the Burner. I was wondering because i had a chance to feel the face of one and it felt like the titanium could scratch your skin. I just wondered because i never felt another driver like this

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

For me, I think Cobra driver are underrated. They are one great piece of equipment. Forgiving yet solid.

Which Cobra driver did you try? I still have my Cobra F Speed driver. Performs well but it makes a loud noise. Not as bad as the Sasquatch more like the Calloway FT.

I tried the F-Speed and swapped the R580 out of my bag for it. So it stands up for me at least.

Yet I'm the only one who likes the sound. It screams "great shot" to me when no one else will.

The great thing about this driver is the balance of the shaft. My only problem with this driver was that I hit it too high. Still a really good driver. The Cobra hybrids are money, though.

The shaft I have is a mid-kick point. You could probably get a different kick point if you're hitting it too high. I hit mine plenty high, but that seems to work out most of the time. Less trouble in the air

Cobra Hybrids, definitely. The 4H is one of my best friends. I like the 3H, but I sometimes put a 5W back into the bag instead.

I rented a set of Cobra's at my father in laws club and, while only playing 9 holes, I shot a 40 with them - easily my best. I believe it was a F speed, the irons were FP's.

Cobra makes good clubs, imo - love the baffler hybrid

I dropped my r7 460 for a Cobra LD F speed. I hit that R7 way too high and I think it felt muffled. Last year's LD is loud, but I like the results.

I love the sound of my F-Speed. Turns heads and absolutely crushes the ball. Maybe next year I'll check out the F-Speed LD.

Had the r7 460 for one day and hated it. Cobra drivers are so awesome. Very straight and long. Also love the forgiveness of this club. Can't beat it.

I got the Taylormade 460 after using the old cobras that have recently became illegal. The Taylormade is just as good if not better, very forgiving and goes a long way!

What do you think is louder the Cobra Speed LD or the r7 425?

The L4V X is louder than both of them combined. Can't argue with the results though. Loooooong.

A friend of mine just got the new 2008 model Cobra driver and I got to hit a few with it just this evening. The heads on those things are the size of roise o'donnell..but they are not as obnoxious sounding as previous Cobra drivers. I hit a 10.5 (which is way too much loft for me) so i couldnt really tell you how well they drive the ball but its a pretty solid feeling driver. Good whip action with whatever shaft they put it on this year. It seems like it had a draw bias though so im not sure if it is a players driver.

I love cobra drivers. I have actually been thinking about purchasing one if I can find a good deal. Every cobra driver that I have tried since the SS series has been excellent. Depending on the player, some of the drivers can be LONG! The HS9 is probably going to be my choice if I can find a nice one for cheap

    • You could make this a whole thread for your Bandon stuff. LMK if you want it renamed. Looking forward to seeing the photos and reading!
    • Day 81 (21 July 25) - Soft hands drill work today w/9i in the backyard.  Focused on keeping the hands quiet and getting a nice hop and roll.  Kept shots to about 20 yds or less.
    • 39/39/78 for an 8.7 differential. Ball striking was good. Putting and chipping was off just enough to prevent a very good score.
    • Worst thing on Sunday was that NBC and Peacock wouldn't let me FF through the commercials on my DVR recording. Very boring when a guy has a huge lead on the final round and everyone else is playing for 2nd place. At least it was USA 1-2-3 in the end.
    • First day of a trip to Bandon Dunes. We played Sheep Ranch today. A Coore/Crenshaw designed course. A par 34 on the front and 38 on the back. With 8 holes with either a green, tee box, or the hole runs along the edge of the bluffs at the pacific. It has amazing vistas. With wide fairways and intermixed gorse bushes. The defense of the course are its large, undulated greens and the daily winds from the north. Many times you need to take 3-4 clubs more, if you even barely cross the wind, your ball can be taken offline or come up half to a full club short. A fantastic layout.    here are some photos.
