I don't like question #20 either. The player changed the relief area after establishing a reference point, then only dropped once before placing in the second reference point/relief area.

I have it on good authority that the MGA have realised the score for #25 should be 11

How do you get to 11?

1 - Tee shot
2,3 - Dropping away from water (wrong place)
4 - Ball hit into bush
5,6 - Wrong place in dropping out of bush
7 - Shot onto the green
8,9 - Two putts

I'm quickly moving away from this so I'm not going to give this that much more thought. I have problems with other rules questions, so that they may not know what they're doing on #25 doesn't surprise me at this point.

The original answer was  'Rule 14.7' but I am told they had missed 6C(9) bullet 2 in Committee Procedures.

I haven't even read the question

Was just told not to give a crap about the MGA’s yearly test. That they’re often garbage and don’t listen to the USGA.

I'm with you Erik, I don't bother with it. The beast administered by PGA/USGA is more than enough for me. :)

I can't get behind a so-called "test" that opines situations which might happen once in the history of the game, and more likely would never actually happen.  A test that is created for the express purpose of making you fail is not a real test, in my humble opinion.

That too. Pointless.

I see it as a test for Committee members. Joes like me on the course with a badge and a radio don't need those headaches. :)

They have just released an update with 3 corrections !

Real signs of a poor test.

I have an idea how to deal with these weird scenarios:  When a player screws up so badly that it requires that many convolutions to sort things out, he is disqualified, with orders to leave the course and don't return (or at least he is barred from entering any competitions) until he has made the effort to learn some of the basic procedures for playing golf.  Too many of those brain twisters begin with fairly stupid mistakes, and are then compounded by more stupidity - anyone with a basic understanding of the rules would never make the mistake that starts the chain of errors.

(understand that this is, at least partly, tongue in cheek 😁 )

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
