    Rocco Mediate

I'd like to see Azinger take Roger Maltbie's place on NBC, It would be fun to listen to someone who dares to disagree with Miller. I'd put Rocco on CBS in place of Baker-Finch--they have had him on tv for years and I still can't figure out why... Another name I think might be good for TV is Colin Montgomerie, I'd rather listen to him than Curtis Strange.
  2. I'd go with Augusta because you see the course every year and it would be fun to relive the round
  3. Just wait till it's Faldo's "turn"
  4. I've always been amazed at how Mickelson never seems to contend at the open. I think its the hardest major to predict a winner or who will even be in contention.

    Pet Peeves

but can anyone honestly say they've never been THAT GUY?
  6. I played with a guy who was in a deep greenside bunker while the rest of us were on the green waiting for him to hit. I never heard a club hit the sand but the ball mysteriously popped over the lip with no spin at all right next to the hole.

    TPC Sawgrass

what are the rates for Sawgrass?

    Tiger's Back

There's nothing about Tiger Woods' appearance that indicates steroid use. The only connection is the Canadian doctor, and we don't know all the facts. The whole logo on the golf shirt/marketing plan sounds like nothing but a foolish conspiracy.
  9. Go get a used or cheap one for $10 and see how you do with it. They are fun to hit even though people will always say you don't need them.
  10. inferior equipment
  11. wasn't 2005 about the time he switched from a 43.5 steel shaft to a 45 inch graphite?

    Tiger's Back

I just don't get this cry of sympathy for Stevie. How much money is this guy paid? To do what? If this guy is actually entitled to a percentage of Tiger's winnings than I don't see why his job should hold zero responsibility.
  13. it really is something to see a guy being outdriven today by guys he used to hit his little steel shafted driver 30 yards past. During the final round of the open I was thinking of the 2000 Mercedez Championship when Els and Woods were in the playoff and Woods was making Els look short but yet today 40 year old Els is longer than him. Without that length advantage I don't see how he can be the same player he was ten years ago.
  14. Ap1's are a game improvement club so I think any skill level can hit them. I've played many rounds with them and they are very forgiving.
  15. I'd love to see a swing that can hit a 3 iron 250 yards, that's probably asking too much I'm sure.
  16. Q2. My next question is "how hard is it to hit pure consistently 90% of the time?" Or am I better off playing now because 80-90% of time I can hit 165 with 6 iron?[/QUOTE] I've never thought of it that way. I think the next time I go to the range I'll hit 50 6 irons and try to get a percentage of my miss-hits. I do think sometimes that what we think is a 75% swing is really much closer to a full swing and what "feels" like 50% is probably closer to 75%. that may be just me though
  17. It's happened many times where I've played with someone who's normal drive is a 220 yard slice but when they get to a par five they wait for the green to clear from 260 out.
  18. I had no idea the LPGA is that short. Really limits the way tournaments can set up the course and still have them break par.
  19. You should read "Paper Tiger" before making that kind of goal

    Tiger's Back

I guess Nick Faldo was the "classiest" golfer in history if showing no emotion is how you define class.

    2 Iron

Tiger doesn't carry a 2 iron anymore, he replaced it with a 5 wood. He said he can carry a 5w 250 wheras a 2 iron only about 240 if he was lucky--(not even the longest on this thread)
  22. So Tiger and Ernie both hit 3w off 18--Tiger had 275 in and Ernie had 242. Times have changed
  23. I like Miller and thought Azinger was good when he was doing it. Ian Baker-Finch is painfully boring.
  24. I think a full nine iron would go about 100 yards with that move
  25. I think there's a lot of reasons why he may not get there. Injuries could end his career at anytime, I think he has already peaked and he seems to be getting worse rather than improving, he doesn't have the length advantage he once had, and players don't seem afraid to be paired with him in the final round as they once were. I remember when he came out someone said there are only two things that will keep him from breaking Jack's record--a bad back or bad marriage-- I guess we'll see whether that's true.
