Been playing in a new league this year. After the 18th each member of the foursome shakes hands and says " nice playing with you" . Haven't done this much before. Do you guys do this?

Yes. To not shake hands would be considered very rude where I play.

Yes.

Good idea haha

Also, yes I do this with kids I haven't played with before or if its in a tournament or something. I don't like the "take the hat off" thing though..

Always - it is the gentlemanly thing to do. Though I do run into the occasional A-hole who just heads for his car (usually while the rest of us are still putting out).

Yes, I do take my hat and sunglasses off. The best thing to do in life is to act like a professional whether you are or not. My grandpa always took his hat off when he went indoors, and I still do that to this day and so do my children.

I don't fault anyone who does not take off their hat though. Every person is an individual. I would get pissed if someone just took off without saying anything.

i would venture that there are better things in life than anything to do with golf. but thats neither here nor there. and i take off the hat and sunglasses and shake too.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Yes and I am pretty sure that I have shaken hands after every single round of golf I have ever played, wether it was with a stranger or family member. I also take my hat off to shake 95% of the time. The time that I haven't has been about logistics (I just putted or put the pin back and someone reaches out to shake my hand).

Always. Hat off (if I'm wearing one), shake hands and congratulate them if they have won (and mean it, even if you are feeling like crap!) and comisrate if you have kicked their butts. ry not to be too condescending, though!

If it's a strokeplay three-ball, shake hands on the 18th - it's courtesy. Then clear the green as fast as you can!!

Most definitely. After every round. Even with people you play with every week. Basic good manners and the expected thing to do. A person would be considered very odd if he didn't.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

    • Lemme guess….’ We don’t want any confrontation so nobody says anything.’ Sheesh…..Call him out and fix the problem.
    • Went to a PING fitting day today. Going to be ordering a G430 Max 3w with a 75g x-stiff shaft at 5w length and a 3h. I forget what my fitter did with the shaft on that but she told me she’s going to email the club the specs of everything. The 3w combination we found pretty quickly. As for the hybrid, we tried a bunch of different head and shaft combinations for that distance with mixed results. Then she handed me the 3h and I took three swings with it and knew it was the one.
    • Yeah, this isn't sandbagging. It's outright cheating. He should be banned.
    • That’s quite a generalization. It’s clear that you don’t like water but there are plenty of us that drink it just fine. My daily intake is usually about 20oz of black coffee, 16oz of soda, 8oz of milk mixed into a protein shake, and anywhere between 30-60oz of water. It doesn’t even need to be cold and I kind of prefer it closer to room temperature than cold. I quite like the taste of tap water, with sole exception being the tap water at Magic Kingdom (it’s terrible). I can’t stand when people bring me tap water with a lemon wedge in it. I didn’t ask for lemon in my water.
    • This is the part I don’t get. He’s not even kind of sandbagging, he’s blatantly doing it and submitting scores that are verified to be incorrect. How he’s not banned from competition is beyond me.
