Small point of clarification for me (a question):

I thought kelzzy, when he originally started posting here, was listed as a single-digit handicap.  Did that change or am I just remembering things inaccurately?

Going from a 14 handicap to the US Open is quite the task, no matter how recently you picked up the game.

That's what I remember, but 14 is what is says right now.

My son has roughly the same handicap, but aspires to be something other than a golfer.

However, kelzz, is really into golf. He has the passion and the desire to get in the low single digits. Maybe...

Day 5

Long day today, but a great one. Got up at 3:30am to set up my practice net, and took hits from 4am to about 5:45-ish and then got ready for school. I worked out at TNT, felt great, but was unable to take to the course. Tomorrow will be a long day, though! Saturday baby!

Like promised, heres some videos of my "new and improved" swing. I've been working to get a more explosive pull down and push at contact, like Tiger. Thoughts?

Pardon the light and only view of the lower body, it was really dark and raining out in the morning.

8-iron

He was, this is a quote from the third page of his swing thread when he first came here. I'm guessing he had a couple of good rounds right after coming back, but then the pattern devolved into the all too familiar inconsistency that many of us know.

Cheers!

EDIT: This post is not meant to bash in any way, that's not my intention here. Just answering a question. There was that Nick character who came around the same time though who appeared to have a similar situation.

Also, I'm glad that Kelzzy finally got some better camera angles even if they aren't in great lighting.

Funny thing is that I think you've probably got a chance to be a good golfer...As soon as you get just a little bit of humility you might even become bearable to be around.

Don't worry. Golf is a great teacher of humility once you start playing competitively.

Well you'll need to work on that. If you want to shoot in the 70s you'll need to learn how to breath. If your comment is directed towards anyone in this thread, from what I've seen none of them are idiots and I think they deserve more respect than what you've shown. It would be really cool if you did accomplish your goal and I think many of us "idiots" would be happy for you.

If your goal is to play golf at a professional level, wouldn't you want to bring your communication and interaction skills to that level as well? Think about the guys on tour - they all have giant egos but they're (usually) careful about what they say in the media.

It's good to be confident but as others have posted, a little humility might go a long way.

Those videos are worthless.

Improper punctuation.

Bummer when one screws up an English critical post!

Help me out here.  What was improper about the punctuation in my post?

David,

Proper form for an ellipsis is three dots, each separated by a space. I was once firmly admonished for this same error by an old editor of mine.

Sorry to be so hypercritical, but my inner grammar nazi overcame me and I posted without even considering what I was doing. :-(

There are also preformed ellipsis, and…

Tell him to pound sand!  While the 3-dot ellipsis is certainly more traditional for an aposiopesis, I'd call the use of 4-dots more non-standard than improper.

At least that's the excuse on which I'm going to hang my hat! :-P

    • Day 5- Slow,  short swings with short practice club.
    • Lemme guess….’ We don’t want any confrontation so nobody says anything.’ Sheesh…..Call him out and fix the problem.
    • Went to a PING fitting day today. Going to be ordering a G430 Max 3w with a 75g x-stiff shaft at 5w length and a 3h. I forget what my fitter did with the shaft on that but she told me she’s going to email the club the specs of everything. The 3w combination we found pretty quickly. As for the hybrid, we tried a bunch of different head and shaft combinations for that distance with mixed results. Then she handed me the 3h and I took three swings with it and knew it was the one.
    • Yeah, this isn't sandbagging. It's outright cheating. He should be banned.
    • That’s quite a generalization. It’s clear that you don’t like water but there are plenty of us that drink it just fine. My daily intake is usually about 20oz of black coffee, 16oz of soda, 8oz of milk mixed into a protein shake, and anywhere between 30-60oz of water. It doesn’t even need to be cold and I kind of prefer it closer to room temperature than cold. I quite like the taste of tap water, with sole exception being the tap water at Magic Kingdom (it’s terrible). I can’t stand when people bring me tap water with a lemon wedge in it. I didn’t ask for lemon in my water.
