The segway technology looks like it's making a leap to a 2 wheeled board that is self balancing.  Recently the companies have started releasing off road models.  I wonder if these things have enough horse power to carry a rider that is pushing a push cart.

What do you guys think?  Seems like a much cheaper option to the Golf Board that came out about a year ago, and much less likely to lead to having to pay a trail fee.

I saw someone commuting on one of those the other day, it looked nice.

But there's no way it can work for golf IMO, standing on one and pushing a cart? dangerous, and silly.

Darn, I haven't seen one in person; only the videos online.  Based on what you saw did it not look stable enough to push a cart?  Wonder if it could take the weight of carrying a bag on my back.... I know they are rated to 250 lbs and I'm 180, so shouldn't be over the weight limit.

Well, I still like it better than the other options.  If I get to the point in my life where I'm willing -- and able-- to drop thousands of dollars on a personal golf vehicle, I won't be splitting hairs over 3K. :-D

Seems like a lot less of a hassle and a lot cheaper just to rent a cart. I can't imagine lugging some of those things around except the Segway model.

      So I think it's that they can't just bend the shaft or hosel to get it to a new lie angle. They adjust that and it changes the weighting, so they have to then adjust all the weights to get it balanced again. I get the impression that it's a bit of an iterative process and they do it all in the US, so they're paying US labor costs to build it and make it work how it's supposed to. Whether you believe in the tech or not, I think that's a true statement.

      Extremely outward path with a very closed club face. Maybe unless you have a stupidly weak grip, like right hand way over top, I don't think the grip is necessary highly correlated to this.

      I still feel like the $110 to $150 adder for a "custom putter" is a rip-off. It is built from standard parts. I can understand waiting 7 weeks (according to their webpage). But the extra cost just seems high. Everyone who makes irons and or drivers will build you a "custom" driver or irons for the same price as off the shelf assuming you just want standard parts built to your spec.

      I think it's rare for someone to be consistently hitting low hard dipping duck hooks without a super strong grip. I can't comment on anything else without seeing their swing.
