just to let u know, i watch the golf channel quite a bit, and ive seen just about every show on the station, and The Golf Fix is by far the best. Michael Breed is so good on that show and he does an amazing job giving you tips, ideas, and drills that will help your game. i find myself sitting on the couch with a pencil and paper taking notes cause the info u get is just so good.

id encourage everybody here to check out The Golf Fix on Mondays at 8:00 pm on the golf channel. it will change your game!

I hate Michael Breed.
He tries to sell his show as a "quick and easy fix", when he's talking about golf. There is no quick-easy fix in golf.

Plus, the show just seems so bum-rushed.
and I honestly don't like improvement shows, as I view improvement as working on your swing with tips and drills specifically for you given by a trained professional. So that is a reason I don't like the show.

I'm sorry to say, I think that show is terrible. He just talks so freakin much about nothing and rambles about these nonsense stories without going into the details of why we use this technique. Like he just reads off stuff, a basic summary. I wish it was a little more specific and thorough. He's so worried about being rushed and timing his speaking and filling in the gaps that the message doesn't get through very clearly. They should stop doing it live and just do segments.

I like the show. He has some good pointers. And to the above poster, there are quick and easy fixes in golf. Good show

I agree 100%. The pace is so frenetic and rushed it isn't entertaining or informative to me. Maybe the show is geared toward the ADHD crowd.

I can say that I got more out of last night's show than the one I've seen before....

Two of the drills are target areas that I can use a quick drill for....on my preround warm up sessions: The "Pistol" drill and the ball under my right foot for swaying. A couple of swings with each of these should help groove the proper feel for the round.

He does jump and run all over the place....small one point lessons....quick stuff to help you hone in on a specific area.

I get something out of his shows....but you gotta pay attention....he's all about sticking and moving....sort of like an ADD Golf Coach.

I watched it for the first time last night, he did have some good pointers, but he seemed to be going very fast, like he had to fit so much in within his half hour. I also thought he was a bit full of himself. Just my opinion though.
I'll watch it again, but won't Tivo it.

I agree that the show is too rushed. Michael has some great drills and tips. I would prefer to see him do a more traditional hour long show.

I went to high school with Michael. I haven't seen him in almost 30 years, but I remember him as a very nice guy. I thought I was an athlete back then and he was only on the golf team, which in that day was about as cool as being on the riflery team, chess club or dungeons & dragons club.

Watched 2 of the 3 weeks and I have to admit I'm not getting much out of it. I'll watch it once in a while, but I hope they go to a new format.

The first show he was so nervous it was almost embarrassing to watch. Evidence: a week later he admitted that he mistakenly gave out his own phone number, at least partially, the last 4 digits, instead of the Golf Channel number.

But he calmed down somewhat the second show and moreso this week. I agree the format works against him, trying to cram too much info. If it were an hour show split between canned segments and live, the show would be exponentially more effective.

However, keep this in mind: Naturally he's going to rush to impress, a prime time show, essentially his introduction to the golfing community as a whole. So he'll spit out his best material early, and too much of it at a time. It's almost like showing off. Once the show settles there will be less of a need for that and I'm sure the pace will slow.

Overall I think some of the tips are excellent, focusing on very typical faults. But he's got too many drills that require two balls at a time. Specialists have to realize not everyone can spend all day at a driving range or golf-centered facility. The best tips are ones that can be practiced in your own living room or back yard.

I hate Michael Breed.

But do you realize how many people across America does not have access to personal instruction. Whether it be money, location and/or time. These TV programs are the only thing these people have that is anything close to lessons.

I'm still deciding whether the production choices they've made on this show are cool or just gimmicky. All the talking with the director, the camera guy, the quick cutting, etc. Michael's personality and the 'what is he gonna say/do next' is what kept me watching.
The tips were nothing special, and even had me confused (some of the putting stuff).

I'll be checking in now and then to see what kind of direction the show takes. Thus far, for pure instruction, not so great.

It's a good show, has a good idea. My issue is not the speed in which he has to talk, it is the fact that they had to include all the other bells and whistles...literally. Why do we need to hear the 'horn' sound at the end of a segment. Why does there have to be the 2-minute drill?

Is this ESPN or the golf channel? Am I watching The Golf Fix or Around The Horn/PTI?

I think the show is getting better each week. The first show was rough.

I have taken 4 of his tips/drills to the range and they make a difference. I find it more helpful to watch the drill demonstrated (even if it IS rushed) on TV than trying to read it in a magazine.

The "3 ball" drill and pistol grip drill have really helped me. I've used them prior to playing a round and found them very helpful. I'm going to use the "band aid on the putter" when I work on the putting green tonight.

OK - the show is not for everybody, but I like it.

    • I get kidney stones. So 100 oz of water every day. Some nights I drink 32oz between midnight and 6 Am. Which means I dont sleep much.
    • 46 (9 over) Short game and putts were awful!
    • 46+40 for an 86. I just need to play 9 holes on the range before each round. 🤣🤣🤣
    • I don’t measure my intake either. I generally have a black coffee, a bottle of soda, some sweet tea at home, and anything in between is water. An ice cold bottle of water is one of my favorite things. It feels like an immediate refresher for my body. I’ll admit that I need to drink a little more though.
    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
