Scratch SB-1, that will be my next set of irons. I've been happy with both my 695MB's and my ZM's but those SB-1's are great!

Lots of Titleist staff players are now playing the AP2, so I think they would be hard to pass up.

If you really want an old school blade look and feel I'd also look at some of the Mizunos (mp-32s) or Nike VRs.

The titleist zm are one of the best blades and you would have a hard time adjusting. But the macgregors pro m are amazing clubs I pretty sure they have the cupface so the ball travels around the same distance every time.

Macgregor MT-Pro M are awesome blades. I would highly reccomend you look at getting a set. I am seriously thinking about picking some up.

2nd this recommendation. A few weeks ago I gave these a whirl and was thoroughly impressed. Their MT line is far too often overlooked.

try the Nickent Arc Blades. ive hit them and they are THE most forgiving blades i have ever hit. they are using a new technology that gives them more forgivness and a larger sweet spot. i couldnt tell i was hitting blades when i used them. they are the best ones out right now imo.

Mizuno MP-67

I second the mizuno mp-67.

Oh yeah, I agree. SB-1s are so sweet and so customizable. If you are willing to shell out the cash, also give Miura a look. Their tournament blades are awesome. Mizuno blades (32s, 67s, 33s) are all amazing.

Just to say those pics dont work unless you are a member.

I too have been demo-ing blades over the past week. My personal favorite is the Nike Victory blades. Not as pretty as the Titleists, but I hit them better.

It's probable because I was hitting demo clubs with a standard lie, which since I need a 2 degree flat, I was hitting them more toward the toe according to the contact tape. I believe Nike puts more weight out toward the toe that Titleist does.

Driver: Nike Covert Driver

Irons: Mizuno JPX-825 Pro 5-GW

Wedges: Mizuno MP-T4 Black Nickel 54* & 58*

Ball: Titleist Pro V1X

I have a couple friends who work at golf stores and all of them have been telling me that recently everyone who comes in wanting blades hit's Mizuno's, Titleist's, and every other blade in the store but 9 out of 10 walk out with the new Nike VR blades. I haven't hit them yet but I plan on it. I hear that there feel is simply amazing and Nike stepped up their game with these irons. I will give you my review of them after this weekend.

    • after some years experimenting around, I've settled on a mixed bag of mostly Pat Simmons vintage Tiger Sharks (the ones with the blue enamal on back of the clubheads): 3 thru 9 iron, + 3 wedges (PW, sand, chipper). Those super heavy clubheads really help me get my swing down and thru the ball. Also I carry an old Taylor 18-degree rescue club, 17-degree and 14 degree ImagineGolf metalwoods, and the famous Pat Simmons "alien" 1-iron. Finally a real brick-on-a-stick, the big-headed Bettinardi Ben Hogan model putter which is excellent for taking the break out of short putts and getting the ball hole high on long ones. Wait....is that 15 clubs? Oh well....
    • this topic brought to mind one my favorite golf-spectator memories. Back when, living in Santa Barbara CA, parked in my yellow cab just behind the 10th tee  (c. 380 yard par 4) at SB Muni golf course while eating lunch. A twosome comes by, and first up is this fat little mexican guy who takes a kinda squirelly practice swing, then addresses the ball and bashes a long, high, perfectly straight drive up to w/in about 5 yards of the green. Other guy is dressed to the 9's, pulls out what looks like a $300 driver....and hits a maybe 150-yard pop fly. Slams clubhead to the ground and yells, "it's fat! It's fat! Everything is fat today!!"  And that's how I learned what a "fat" shot is.
    • day 57. Technique practice in the net. Really trying to slow down.
    • It may not be surprising that in the previous 7,064 posts, this particular point has been discussed. To which I will counter: If we're talking about results, why only the majors? Unless you know something that I don't, neither of us are in any position to judge whether Woods or Nicklaus lived their overall life better, not that such a thing is even objectively measurable, nor is it relevant to the discussion.
    • As we've had to tell other people, the topic is which is the better GOLFER, not human being.
