I could never do anything like that. After reading a story about a guy who ended up with a hole in the side of his mouth from dipping for many many years, and his reach for one last dip before the throat and mouth cancers finally killed him, it's just scary as hell.

Pay attention to this post. I know a lot of guys who dip. I live in the south and it's pretty common. As is anything with nicotine it's extremely addictive. All the guys I know who dip wish they didn't.

My guess is it's because you mentioned the bit about a "camouflaged wedge." I think the redneck comments are a bit out of line, but it takes some serious reading comprehension problems to mistake that for having anything to do with the military. If it's NOT that, then, well, I'm puzzled.

As for chewing (or dipping or whatever you want to call it), just don't. If you must use tobacco, then ok, fine, I guess it's better than churning out smoke for those around you to inhale. Still, if you are capable of deciding whether or not to do it, look around and see what other hobbies you can come up with.

Oh, you know what - that totally went past me. It didn't even occur to me that one would think that my comment was designed to be a jab at the service man.

I was referring to Boo Weekley - who always looks like he has a dip or chew in (and probably does) and endorses Cleveland clubs, which include a camouflaged wedge with digi-camo - which happens to be a real bitchin' club, IMO. I've been wondering why nobody got my reference. Oh well, didn't mean that as a military jab - meant that as a joke associated with Boo, Cleveland, and their camo wedges. And people who might buy into Boo's image. Hence, skip the dip, get the camo club. Suppose I ought to dumb down the humor before I get my butt in a sling. Thank you everyone for buying into my "social experiment"

Writing a paper for school about tobacoo products and youth, and the easiest way i figured i could get some adults who arent afraid to talk is to use a gool ol internet forum.

Personally, of course i have tried dip.. i hang around enough golfers, teachers, and wrestlers that it was inevitable. i dont do it on a regular basis, but thanks all for lookin out for me :P
