Haha, I use a quarter, dime, nickel.. Well you get my drift.

I was playing with a threesome two days ago, one of the guys used a half dollar. His friend missed the putt because of it, and yelled. "FUC*** DINNER PLATE!" It was pretty comical.

I have a bunch of wooden ball markers I got at the local country club. I'm not a member (which leads to a lot of explanation when people see the logo on the marker and I have to explain I am not crazy rich) but we played there on the golf team, and I made sure to stock up before rounds. They kept them in the little boxes by the first tee where they have tees, scorecards, and pencils too. I really like the fact that they are wooden, not sure why though.

I got this customized Dave Matthews Band Fire Dancer logo ballmarker that I bought off of a lady who makes them at a Dave Matthews Band concert. It's a good luck charm for me.

I have four.

One came with a tool I keep on my belt, which, among other things, holds a magnetic ball marker. And this is the one that came with it. I haven't used it in a while.

I got a Mizuno hat and ball marker at a Mizuno event over two years ago. The ball marker is on the hat and I almost always wear that hat when playing.

I also have a ball marker from UC Irvine and another from UCLA. I alternate these two (round to round, not during the round) the most often. They both fit nicely into the belt tool's magnetic ball mark holder. If I'm playing with a friend from one school or the other, I'll use the matching school's marker.

I use a 10 Baht Thailand coin, I have a few of them in my bag, I picked them up when I was golfing over there and have used them ever since. They're slightly smaller and thinner than a quarter.

Cheers, Allan

I always come back from Mexico with peso coins so I throw them in the bag and use them and also give them away if someone doesn't have a marker. They're two-tone like that Canadian Toonie and the coin from Thailand above so they're easily identified.

Nice to see the novelty of the toonie being used by our american friends lol.

I primarily use a 1 pound coin ( small but pretty thick ) or a coin from the local chamber of commerce worth $2 ( it's bigger than a loonie or half dollar, but not very thick )

If I don't have those my divot tool has a marker on it and failing that any change I have in my pocket, The 1 pound coin is my good luck coin though.

In my bag:

Nike SQ DYMO 10.5
Big Bertha 3 Wood
Big Bertha 3-10 IADAMS Tom Watson Classic 54,58 and 64 Wedges Nike Oz 5 Putter/Wilson Staff ( not sure model, bought it in second hand store ) Ball: Bridgestone E6

I use a quarter or nickle. Played the other day with a guy who was using a half dollar and it was very distracting trying to putt when his mark was close to the hole. Looked like a hub cap lying there.

Well, my wife is Canadian so we get up there a lot and have a lot of these floating around the house. It's just a really nice coin, and IMO an almost ideal marker---not too thick, large enough to be seen clearly but not so large as to be a distraction, and the two-tones make it easy to spot in different lighting conditions.

    • I would recommend spending some time at the range and film your swing. You can post it in the Member Swings thread. At the range, you can figure out how to control the driver a bit more. We can offer some pointers once you post in the Member Swings section.
    • With the H4 or the watch, you tag the club before hitting by putting the tag next to the device. The tag is on the club butt end. After a round, you don’t really think about it too much. You just do it. I don’t know how far you are from @phillyk, but he may know an instructor in your area.
    • So the biggest issue right now is marrying the hands down with an athletic turn. I can get stuck not turning. Things get interesting from there.

    • Hi everybody!  I am new to the golf game. I have taken some lessons and got fitted for clubs a couple of months ago. I usually score between 110-120 for 18 holes.  I bought a Stealth driver last year and have been hitting consistently with it 210-230 yds on the simulator. But when I take it out on the course, every drive is a severe slice!  I played 18 holes yesterday at the club where I belong. I removed the driver from my bag and used the 5 iron to drive with. I hit straight 16 out of 18 drives, 180 - 200 yds. I used the 5i - putter for the rest of my game.  I ended the day with a 92. Question: Does it make sense for me to continue playing with irons only until I get further along in my game before I reintroduce the Driver and woods again? Or should I continue to struggle with the Driver and woods and shoot in the 100’s again? To me it’s a no brainer, but for those more advanced I am interested to get feedback.
