Hi all,
I just love this bag. I arrange my clubs as many of you do also, from past threads and pics. Any of you use this bag on a riding cart? Because if that's the case, I have to rearrange my clubs backwards, othewise the wedges and smaller irons are against the cart and woods in front. And you can't turn the bag around, otherwise you can't get at the pockets/pouches. Also from rearranging the clubs, woods at bottom(stand), the rain hood doesn't fit properly. I did buy this bag for walking, and use on my push cart, which is fine. But the one time I had no time to switch back to my cart bag because at last minute we rented the cart.

Carry or ride, i have the woods at the stand end and the wedges at the "front" with the pockets. It would be really weird to me to do it the other way.

This bag may be my favorite piece of golf equipment, but I have considered a different bag for days that I ride. The feet keep it from sitting squarely in the back of a cart, meaning that its never really secure. Also, without a good opening on the rain hood, I just got a tower/cover from the pro shop and called it a day.

Just the opposite, I leave my wedges in the stand side for both walking and riding rounds. It's not a big deal to have to reach around the woods to grab irons from the cart and I don't want my irons click-clacking all over my graphite wood shafts when I walk.

Just reach over the longer clubs. That's what I do.

Hmm. I was going to get this bag for the cooler mostly. I kinda hate nike products besides clothes and shoes though. I dont know why, lets not get into that. The bags I like are the Callaway diablo edge, Nike SQ tour carry, and the taylor made supreme hybrid. I LOVE the Ogio bags but they dont have a stand bag with a big enough cooler for me.. and the woode top sucks compared to the wedge.. Idiots. Anyway.. Can I go wrong with the nike as opposed to the diablo or TM? Thanks for any advice.
Also if you have some cold drinks int he cooler do your club grips get wet?

P.S. To maybe help the O.P. The bag i have now sucks pocket wise and club organization wise and what I do is only use half the pockets ad put it sideways on the cart. I'll leaev SOME stuff in the other pockets like stuff I rarely use (raingear etc..) but the beers stay on the easily accesible side. hahaha.
I play in Hawaii and have never felt rain while golfing yet in 2 years. hahaha.

I actually looked at this bag over the weekend, but went with the Bridgestone Bag, which is a sweet bag, but the Nike is really close, I would have been happy with the Nike bag too. I always put the woods at the top and irons middle, wedges/putter at the bottom, and I use it on the cart, I have the woods to my back wedges out, seems to be ok, I just get anything I may need out before I play.

In my Stand bag...

I have my woods on the handle side, works just fine for walking or riding. I had it the other way but the irons would bang against the shafts for the woods while walking.

Funny thing I never considered this until I got on this site. 15 years of being wrong. But my thought process was geared towards cart golf. Now I turned them proper. Though it is a toss up if you are a cart golfer. (BTW I would love to do pull cart, and did for a lot of years, but my regular partner has a heart condition so we ride) Anyway makes sense. BUt had to have it explained to me.

BTW Nike Sasquatch Tour Carry Bag is Awesome!

I really want to get this bag and am still debating it. I messed with one a while back at Golfsmith but didn't feel sold on it. However, I am getting sick of my Nike eXtreme II bag and it's lack of pockets and the dividers - my clubs get stuck too much.

My debate is down to the SQ stand bag or a Sun Mountain bag for my Clicgear cart. I do ride on the rare occasion but hate doing so.

Yep putter in the small section on the stand size, irons/wedges on second row. woods and hybrids on 3rd row. and driver on top top row near handle. On carts i have to flip it around to have all the pockets exposed. But no biggie.

I use the Nike Sasquatch stand bag for walking, and the range. I had the same issues as the OP when using the bag on a cart so I bought the Titleist Lightweight cart bag for those day days. I like it alot, especially the dedicated putter tube.

  • 7 months later...

Really liking my Nike SQ Tour bag so far.

Here is my early assessment after owning for 6 weeks.

Pro's

  • Light - 5 lbs
  • Good amount of pockets
  • The bands that keep the legs in when using on a cart are handy and effective
  • Handle is very sturdy for lifting out of car and onto cart, etc.
  • Very comfortable strap system, you put it on with a full set of clubs, balls etc and the weight is super even across your body
  • 14 full length divider system is awesome, no more tangled clubs.  With my old Nike bag, I'd pull a club and 4 others would come with it.
  • Cooler pocket fits 4 cans comfortably
  • Valuables pocket appears waterproof
  • Enjoy the quick access ball system
  • For a lighter bag it's very stout
  • Legs feel sturdy compared to other models at the store, bag never feels like it's going to tip over
  • Looks - I still think this is one of the best looking bags out there.  The Sun Mountain Four 5 was was in roughly the same price bracket and I feel the Nike flat out looks like a more expensive bag.  Colors really pop.

Con's

  • Price - a little on the high end.   I got mine on clearance sale for $159.99.  The replacement version for 2011 is back up to $189.99
  • The 3 side pockets are a little shallow.  I just learned to divide my stuff up a little bit more.
  • No Accessory buttons like some of the newer bags have (Taylormade bags have a button that you can attach GPS units to).
  • The pocket near the bottom of the bag (which I consider the pocket to place shoes in) is pretty small.  I wear size 7's and it barely zips up.

Driver: Ping G25

3w - Ping K15

3h - TEE Trilogy

4h - TEE Trilogy

5h - TEE Trilogy

Irons: Ping G25 6-LW

Putter: Odyssey White Ice D.A.R.T
Bag: Nike SQ Tour

Optics: Bushnell Tour V2 Slope

Shoes: True Linkswear
