If you have a look at my sig, you will notice that I'm currently using 15 clubs. I'm torn between ditching a fairway wood, or replacing my 56/60 with a 58. Anyone else been in this situation, and what were your reasons for validating the changes?

I hit the Sumo2 3H and it pretty much does everything a 5 wood does. Goes about 215 give or take and has a pretty consistent trajectory. I would say the Nike or the Cobra has to go.

IMO get rid of the 52 wedge and then keep the bag how it is! Or ditch the 5 wood and keep the bag like it is.

I did a 4 wood instead of 3 and 5 so I could game more wedges like you I figured I'd rather have more scoring clubs... How often are you sticking it close with your 3 and 5 so that's where the 4 wood does everything I ask of it and still goes a good ways off the tee if I decide to hit that rather than driver

I ditched my 5-wood for the same reason. Except it's a Sumo not-squared 3H and a different distance. But I found I didn't need both.

When I dropped the 5-wood, I also dropped the 3-wood (which I found I was

rarely hitting) and put a 4-wood in play. I found I hit it about where I used to hit my 3-wood, but I was more comfortable with it.

switch out between 52* and 3 hybrid.

thats what i do with my 52* and 3 iron. In most situations, i have distances covered and don't necessarily need a 3 iron. Choke down on my 5 wood and I'm much more consistent with it than my 3 iron. With that said, if a course calls for more intricate wedge work, then my 52* goes in and 3 iron out. Otherwise, my 52* is out and 3 iron stays in for long shots out of the rough.

You can't have a noticeable yardage gap between your 5 wood and your 3 hybrid. I'd ditch the 5 wood. Failing that, I'd pull the 4-iron or the 60* wedge.

Which of those clubs cause you to lose strokes during an average round? Which of those clubs allow you to score well during an average round?

What in my bag always depends on my latest faults. If my driver is bad, I opt for a 13 degree 3 Wood or my hybrid. I never really carried 14 clubs in my bag. I also never carried 3-4 wedges like alot of my buddies do. I find it easier to manipulate the 56 degree to get the job done. I just do not have the talent to hit a 60 degree wedge consistently. I play with 25 handicappers who can hit the 60 degree far better than me.

I think you should always include clubs that you can work around your weaknesses with?

At a 25 index, I'd say drop the 60 degree wedge, probably the driver, and possibly either the 3-hybrid or 5-wood depending on the day.

The 5w and 3h are really close to each other... I'd keep the one that you hit better or more often and ditch the other one.
