Its absolutely spendiferous!

OK, well its nice, and I do hit it better, but it will take a little getting used to.  Old driver (which I kept) is a '08 Burner, with the shaft cut down to 44.5" and a Winn Lite grip added.  I compared the R11 (10.5), the Titleist 910D2 (10.5), and the Adams Speedline (9.5).  I was most consistent with the Speedline and loved the look and feel at address, but it was about 5 yds shorter than the R11.  It also had this weird clang when hitting the ball.  It you want attention from the next fairway, this is the driver for you.  The Titleist had a nice feel but didn't excite me and its performance was about par with the R11.  I like the adjustability of the R11 and settled on neutral weight distribution, open sole plate and no change in loft.  I actually like the white top at address although I don't think it makes the head look bigger.  The one thing I found strange is that it feels much heavier than the other drivers, even though the shaft weight was about the same as the Speedline.

This is my third driver in the last six years, so I am averaging a new one every 2.5-3 years.  Not too bad.  It nothing else, it looks good in the bag.  I am taking a trip to Vegas this weekend and will test it on four courses over two days.

Driver: Burner 10.5 deg

3H: Idea Tech

Thanks Todd, yea I jockeyed some things but, i had to. getting 15+ average yards on my drive is huge. my average carry went from 240 to 260, and my average distance went from 255 to 275!

Bought one a couple of weeks ago now and I love it!!!

Best driver i have ever owned.

The schoolteacher was taking her first golfing lesson. "Is the word spelt p-u-t or p-u-t-t?" she asked the instructor. "P-u-t-t is correct," he replied. "Put means to place a thing where you want it. Putt means merely a vain attempt to do the same thing."

So let me get this straight... At 5 handicap you picked up an R11 off the shelf and hit it 20 yards further than your ftiq? I find that hard to believe unless your shaft specs on your ftiq were way off and the R11 shaft was a better match.

I have the same type of connection but was told the discount was only 20%. Still better than the $399 retail but not outstanding compared to what it will be in six months when the R12's are rolled out!

Just got mine today. The Dicks by me has a sweet deal going on that if you trade in a driver for it they will give you an additional $100 in trade on top of the trade in value. I dropped off my old Titliest 975 and got a total of $105 off. Can't wait for the snow to melt.

Mdiogo, any courses open down the Cape yet?

That coat of white paint seems to pack some serious Ju Ju. Bbbwaahahahahahahaha....I knew i couldn't say that and keep a straight face. This white paint is the most ingenious marketing tool I've seen in many, MANY years. Remember when all the sudden the bread came in the plastic bag already sliced??? Same deal.

The R11 didn't seem to help Luke Donald much yesterday.  Reminds me of the white Canon L lenses, definitely stand out on television.  All the manufacturers will switch to white, and then black will be the new fad.  Gotta love marketing....

I went in with every intent to buy one but ended up liking the super fast 2.0 better. ( fairway not driver ) ( For now my ghosted r9 still gets the job done nicely.) Lighter head on the super fast and on the r11 all my settings were neutral anyhow so the adjustments were a moot point. I didn't gain any yardage just cool factor

When a company makes a club in the USA I will proudly display their brand here. All of mine were made in china by somebody making $2 a day. Shame on you Mr club manufacture.

    • My two cents? Don't. As a beginner that's interested in learning about the golf swing, you'll find yourself consuming a lot of information, most of which isn't even relevant to your own swing. You need to learn you can't think your way to a good golf swing. Focus on the one thing that you're working on and doing that on every swing, come what may. And remember, mishits happen.
    • Day 6 (7 May 24) - More work in the backyard focused on tempo in addition to setup.  Worked with 6 and 7 irons hitting hard foam balls - used the old MacGregor irons to mix it up a little.
    • No! lol. But they have to be in the right sequence to play mid-handicap golf or little better. Mostly. And even in that there is range/margin for error in the motions and positions that most normal humans can handle. It helps if you have a decent idea of how a golf club moves around the body like you would any other equipment sports (baseball and hockey might be the closest) After all, fairways are 40 yards wide. Don't overthink it. Be diligent in getting basics right. I will concede that it is harder than it sounds but it certainly is not exact angle/exact position/exact degree of bend/exact speed/exact facial expression, etc, every.... single.... time or the result is horrible death.
    • Looking to play in the Severna Park Golf league and it got rained out the first three weeks. I know the course is being renovated so it is not in great shape but the location is easy for me and I would love to meet some other golfers in my area. Anyone here in Maryland Annapolis area?
    • I like to look at the positives.  Overall you are fairly consistent down the center with most shots 20 yards or less off center.  On most fairways that should be in play.  Sure, you had some very short duds, but also if you look there is a good cluster in the 110-125 yard range.  Sure, we would all like to be longer, but knowing your typical shot is more important than trying to hit the 7-Iron 175 Yards.  Just take more club for longer shots and do not worry about it.  Your distances may increase as you improve over time so do not get caught up on that now.
