I usually play Callaway HX Hot's, and one time I lost one and took a ball out of my bag and tee'd up a Callaway Warbird without even noticing. I crushed my drive down the fairway, and walked up to the ball only to find out the grey logo and not the orange one (lol). Surprisingly, I had 70 yards to the pin, the sprinkler head even said so haha. The hole played 355, so I did the math and it turned out my drive was 285 yards (which is far for me). I haven't experimented really with any other strictly 'distance' golf balls, but I'm curious as to what's the farthest golf ball you have ever hit? Mine was the Callaway Warbird ball so far. Cheers!

490-yard par-5, tees placed at the 490-yard plate. I lost the ball in flight and was looking at some bushes around 240 yards from the tees when a playing partner - total stranger, mind you, so it isn't as though a friend took a ball from me to place here - calls out my initials and Top Flite 2 (the ball I was playing), from the "200 yards to the green" marker. Whoa, sure enough, there's my ball.

And I proceed to hit a horrible 3-Wood off to the side, a bad pitch shot, bad chip, and walk away with a double-bogey on something I could have parred had I just hit a 9-Iron then PW.

My usual drives are more in the 200 range, although I'm working on improving that with the gym and practice and so on.

I once hit one one pin-high but way right on a 310 yard par-4. I was looking in my normal landing area about 220 from the tee when guys coming up the next fairway over showed me where my ball was. I can't take credit though, there was obviously cart path help.

More recently, I hit a perfect 3-wood off the tee yesterday that was about 250-255. It was weird to be hitting a gap wedge into that hole, usually I hit an 8 or 9 iron.

Ummm... Guys... This is the "Equipment" area right? I think the OP was talking about which specific *model* of ball have people hit the furthest. Maybe I'm the only one getting the impression that he asked about equipment and not personal anecdotes in the equipment forum?

Too funny, people are just itching to talk about their long drives.

I like the Callaway HX Hot. Although a well struck Pro V1 jumps off the club.
A Maxfli Rev Solid, while hard as a freaking rock and sounds like one when you hit it goes a long way with very little spin, giving it some nice run once it hits the fairway.

LOL, you're right. My first one was with a Nike Distance ball (from Sam's club) and yesterday I was playing a Titleist DT SO/LO. I don't get to brag about long drives very often so don't judge me too harshly. ;^)

Nike PowerDistance Soft -- ended up 310 (my playing partner did the 'Mark' thing on his Skycaddie). In all fairness, it was a downhill Par 4

LOL! Any excuse.

If you're looking for the absolute longest ball it's got to be some distance ball. Nike Distance, Pinnacle....uhh, whatever, Top Flite XL, something like that. I did play with a Callaway HX Hot this past weekend and was impressed. Long and better feel than I thought it would have. Haven't tried the Warbird yet. Played the HX Red and HX Blue years ago and wasn't impressed with those.

The longest ball I ever played was an off brand called Vectra. Even good shots felt like bad shots. I played these when i first started. They were $9 for 15.

Right now the farthest golf ball i play is a Range ball Actually anytime i find a Slazenger i seem to hit those pretty far and they don't feel too bad. Topflites go really far to but they have no feel to them i usually will tee one up on a hole and just hit it for S&G;'s.

Whoa. I didn't even notice, but I did include the ball in my earlier story.

I've been using Top Flite Strata for over a year now. It works for me, and I've got a good number of them, so I see no reason to switch. When - if - I run out, I'll have a decision to make.

I have been doing some experimenting myself with different balls and so far I have used: Titleist ProV1x, Titleist ProV1, Titleist NXT Tour, Bridgstone B330S, Callaway HX Tour, Nike oneblack .

The longest ball so far was the Callaway HX tour (I avg. 286 yds) and the Bridgstone B330S was a close second (I avg. 284.75 yds). But in all fairness I have to try the other balls again because the weather is finally warming up to seasonable temps. here in the Okanagan. In case you are wandering how I came up with these numbers I use the sky caddie SG2 to track the distance of all my drives.

I haven't tried any of the so called distance balls yet but I plan to. (distance is usually not an issue for me)

Pro V1x was the longest but only by a few yards (back to back rounds at the same course), didn't like the feel as much as the Callaway. HX Tour is the most consistent ball I've ever hit and still use it today.

probably the callaway warbird, although feel is definitely more important to me in a golf ball

The longest ball, consistently, for me, is the one I prefer to use - Pinnacle Gold Long Drive. My average drive is 250, but with a Pinnacle on the peg, I hit 280 or more. But, the greens can never hold a wedge with that ball, so I use them less and less nowadays.

The longest single drive I've ever had was a 320 yard shot about 2 weeks ago - with a Top Flite pellet.

I've never had a wacky shot that caromed off a cart path, off the top of a golf cart, on the side of a ball-washer, and then rolled on down the road to get tremendous distance.
