I think destroyed is a little dramatic though. I imagine that it is just a screen and projector setup.

They have the 2011 Remax long drive competition on youtube in full. Jamie apparently is the one they like to market. Probably because he is not a big guy and lets the average joe think they too can be a long driver.

im a very weak driver and im 200lbs. i HAVE to swing soft in order to get it to go straight. but i'll take FIR over long and inaccurate any day lol

Any info on what his ball speed was?  Or club speed for that matter.  Jamie made reference to "look at the speed, and then look at how far it went," which sounds like a reference to the machine not even being able to read it correctly.

 

Anyway, that's pretty incredible.  And apparently Jamie was confident it would happen to begin with.  Ha!

In the competitions, the ball speed was generally in the 200-210 mph range.

I was watching when it happened. I believe they said ball speed was 216, never made mention of club head speed but still.....

 

He warned them, he's done it before.

The PR the GC is getting out of it was worth it. PGA tour and I think GD fb pages had links to it.

Assuming an optimal smash factor (1.5?), a 216 ball speed would be a club head speed of 144.  Is that correct?

 

200 ball speed would be 133 club head speed.
