What Titleist Vokey will be best for my game?

I'm looking to purchase 2 new wedges... 52 and 56 degrees... but with the Vokey's design/specs and them being made for different types of wedge players, I am unsure of which model I should get. I play a wide variety of shots with my wedges, from flop shots, to low-trajectory chips or 45-50 yard shots. I tend to like "thumping" the ground with my wedges tho.

Should I be looking at the mid-bounce versions of each wedge? Or should I be looking at either the low or high-bounce versions? I'm not sure how each wedge feels so I don't want to make the wrong choice. I'm trying to get fitted before buying, but I'm curious to see if anyone knows what would be more appropriate for me based off my style of play. Thanks!

My son plays 50.08 and 56.11, he uses the 56 for a SW besides his flops and a few short pitch shoots. He sees no need for a 3rd, the 6* of differance works for him.

I have Ping Tour and love them 50 SS, 54 SS and 58 WS Ping does not have a bounce number.

The Vokeys are the SM4 and are a bit heavyer then my Ping, but I started with the Vokeys until they ended up in his bag a couple weeks later. It was by chance I got a hold of a Ping and fell for there feel and how they worked for me.

2 differant wedges on feel and weight, besides the look.

If you can go see the others, look at address, the color and weight there are some really nice ones out.

I have the TVD grind in 54 and 60. They both are a special Tour grind with a lot of heel, toe, and trail relief. The bounce is an effective bounce of 10 and 8.  Previously, I had the spin milled 54/10 and 60/8 that were good all around. The TVDs grinds make the wedges even more versatile than the stock offering.

Bounce is your friend don't be afraid of it.  If you are not digging the club you are using the bounce now.  Might be nice to try on the grass.

I suspect if you look around on the range you might find some you can try.

I'd say to the OP, that the 50.08 has enough bounce to help you in all conditions. The 56-11 is the M Grind, with heel, toe, and trailing edge relief - and it should serve you well around the greens. If you want a 60, the 60-10 is a versatile grind.

I am more of the Stan Utley school of using one club around the greens - if this were my setup, the 56-11 M Grind would be the way to go because of the relief allowing you to open up the club and vary hand position.

I would personally go with the 50.12 or the 52.12 for the gap(highest bounce you can get unless you play on concrete fairways), as I found that more bounce on a gap wedge helps immensely on full and 3/4 shots.  Especially if you like thumping the ground.  My 50 degree gap has 13 degrees bounce.

I think it mostly depends on your course conditions.

I'm probably an oddball here but I've got 5 wedges and play with 3 depending on what course I'm at or what time of year it is.

On pristine well groomed, watered or springtime courses I opt for my higher bounce clubs.  But if I'm playing a buddies goat ranch hard pack July course I'll bring the very low bounce clubs.  If I'm playing a mixture of course like some in MS where you might have really nice fairways and green but slightly off the green and you are in hard pack bare ground under live oaks I might throw in a single low bounce club.

My sand wedge is always the same club though unless again I'm in hard pack gravel like sand then I adjust.   Over the years I've gotten pretty picky where I play so I have decent course conditions, but sometimes friendships warrant adjustments to other courses.  I always laugh at some of the lies the pros get relief from, especially the really tight lies.  That's normal course conditions for 80% of golfers that can't take relief and play public courses.

That's what I was thinking to be honest... My current wedge is a 56 with 10 degrees of bounce and I like the feel of it a lot, it's just time for an upgrade. ;) I'll likely make a similar choice based on my current 52 degree.

I’m not a fan of bounce and have never found myself wishing I had more.  My 56* is 6 and my 60* is about a 3.  Albeit strange this setup has worked best for me and for my course conditions over the years.

Yeah but most of us are not a +.6, and a lot of +HC'ers would disagree with you on that.  If it works for you that is great.  Most people cannot use 3 degrees of bounce out of the sand or softer conditions.

Frankly I couldn't care less who agrees or disagrees with me.  Simply put I was voicing my setup and what has worked best for ME.  The OP asked for opinions which is exactly what I gave.
