Congratulations to Mike McCoy who wins the 2013 men's Mid-Am at age 50. Always good to see one of us old guys beat a bunch of flat bellies!

Next stop, Augusta.

50?  I past that milestone 3 years ago.  He's just a kid for Heaven's sake.

I turn 55 next week......  I'll take all the encouragement I can get!

Yeah, I heard the news on Golf Channel yesterday.   He won after 38 or 39 tries.   That's perseverance.   Ditto for Ken Duke.   I saw his playoff win on TV and was all pumped.    They should pair those two at the Masters.

Some of those old timers are no joke.  They might not hit it far but they hit it really straight.  Usually straight is better than far.

I am not surprised. The best golfers I see around here are in the 40-60 range. My home course was once a private course that runs through a 50+ community. There are a lot of really good middle aged members there.

That's awesome, gives me hope that I've still got some good years of golf to enjoy.  Now I just can't wait to start enjoying some good golf.

Oh Geez.......I was expecting to read about a much older golfer!!!  When I think Mid-Am.......I think 35-54. Keep in mind, 55 is the age requirement to enter the SR AM.   I had no idea the age requirement was reduced to 25.  I thought it was 35!!

Hahaha.......with that said, the guy was only 50 for Pete's sake!!   I looked it up....he won the championship match 8&6.....4&3 in the Semis, 7&6 in the quarters........OMG!!!!  I consider that a bigger story than him being 50! WOW.....talk about kicking some ARSE!!

I didn't know 50 was "old". That was almost 8 years ago and I don't think I'm old now.

May have lost a step or two in the 40 over the years but I don't have to run the 40 in golf.
