Geysers? Springs? Water erupting next to putting green. Smells like propane, guy says.

The water is jetting 10 feet up into the air, maybe more and is very black. No follow up info. Any geologists here?

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Thats cool!

Not sure about the propane smell, and not a geologist, but I've been to Yellowstone a couple of times, and have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before (in Paramus NJ, btw) so I think I'm fairly qualified. ;-)

I'd guess it's hot springs and he's saying propane smell when he really means sulfur smell... which is common at a lot of the geologic sites in Yellowstone.  I don't remember why though. :-P

Propane would smell very light and sweet if pure. Any sulfur compound would give it that nasty off odor, rotten eggs, etc.
