How Long Drive Champ Maxes Out Clubhead Speed (video)

I interviewed former World Long Drive Champ (1992) Monte Schienblum and he told me the move he used to hit his winning drive 23 years ago, a move that he is still using today to get 126+ mph of CHS at age 48. He also he some balls on the flight scope for the camera. Part of a new Driver series I am filming.

Basically he feels that he is dumping the right wrist angle as hard as possible from the top. The body then speeds up to match this, this has really helped my irons and a different move has helped my driving.

I was kind of wondering about this. . .

Monte quite clearly states in other videos that he has told 'a bunch' of people to try this and not one of them did manage to flip it it, so just cos you don't like the message doesnt mean its BS. And so what if Bill wants to 'promote' Monte. He's a great teacher and good teachers should be promoted, instead of ones spewing the usual cliched drivel that doesn't actually help...but my guess is you prefer the cliches. 

I watched this video awhile ago and was really hoping that I'd get something great out of it, but... I have to say, as a former flipper (every once in awhile a flip creeps in, but mostly I've just about fixed it I think), that quite literally the advice that made me stop flipping was to not throw my right wrist. After I finally learned and saw that the "release" should be a rotation style move (or at least, that's my feel), I'm doing so much better.

I like lots of Monte's videos, but this video unfortunately was not the gem that I was looking for, as the title made it sound like :(

I am about to show my ignorance and ask, what exactly do you mean by "flipping"?

The club head gets ahead of your arms and body at or before impact. See Erik's post above.

For a right hander, the right wrist overtakes the left wrist - the right wrist is fully released and the left wrist is bent forward (back of left wrist is looking at the sky) at impact so the clubhead is ahead of the hands at impact at varying degrees depending on the extent of the "flip."

thanks...and when you flip what does it cause the ball to do when you make contact, i.e. ball goes left, right, up, etc?
