I made the playoffs again, won my first round match then lost my second playoff game by 3 points. This is my 8th year and I have yet to make the superbowl. Last year I lost by 1 point of making the bowl.
My 11 yr old son made the superbowl in his second year and lost thanks to LT and Bulger sitting out the second half.

There is always next year!

Bad. I won the first five in a row, but it was all downhill from there. I finished 6-8 and missed the playoffs.

I did okay - I'm in the playoffs. One of the other players video taped me when I was choosing my defenses. He was caught and fined, and he lost a twelfth round draft pick next season, but he still went on to use an over-hyped candy-ass QB to go undefeated.

Oh, wait...

I play in two. One I was in first place the entire season with a strong team and lost the championship game. My team did poorly and my opponent's team came out strong. In my other league 2.4 points in one game separated me from eventually going to the championship to almost going to our Toilet Bowl. I would have lost the championship game anyway, but those 2.4 lousy points killed me.

My worst year in FF by far. Nearly every player on my team was out for at least a few games. Drafted Steven Jackson and Marc Bulger with my first two picks. Maybe if I'd known that the entire Rams OL would get injured I might have changed those picks. Oh well, that's fantasy football.

I finished lousy. I started off second in my division then lost like 4 in a row. I think I went 7-6 and missed the playoffs by 1 game. Tragic. But I'm killin in fantasy basketball.

  • 5 weeks later...
Well my season was a mixed bag. In the Sand Trap league I had the best regular season record and led in overall points. I won my first round matchup but got absolutely steam rolled in the finals.

I was in three other leagues. I finished second in the regular season in one and also won my first round game. I ended up tied in the finals and lost on bench points. The killer is that I had Willie Parker who broke his leg on his first carry. If he had just gone 10 yards before getting hurt I would have won outright.

My other two leagues were a tie for 4th place and a 5th place. I might be most proud of the 4th place team. I ended up missing the playoffs because of the total points tiebreaker but had a team that was hammered by injuries. I drafted Steven Jackson in the 1st, Cedric Benson in the 3rd and Andre Johnson in the 5th. Jackson and Johnson missed major time and Benson sucked. I started the year 1-6 and then won my last 7 to get into contention. If I had made the playoffs I would have won both games based on how my guys played the last two weeks. I made a few nice pickups in getting Ryan Grant and Brandon Jacobs of waivers and picking some good defensive teams of waivers that had solid matchups.

After 10 years of this crud, I have decided that all fantasy sports games are blind luck - even those leagues I did win.

The only real luck factor is with injuries. Obviously you can get killed if you draft a guy high and he gets hurt. I think the best part about Fantasy Football is trying to play the right guys, the right week based on match ups. I love finding that guy in the Free Agents that has a big week. This year it was Grant. Derrick Ward had some big weeks for the Giants. I also ended up with Welker after week three. I don't know how someone let him go, but he was huge for me. I used him a lot with Miami last season as well.

The other thing I love is that I can turn on any game and it is very likely that either one of my guys or one of my opponents guys will be playing. It has made the NFL more enjoyable to me.

I was in 5 leagues this year. Yes, I have a problem.

I won one league, finished 3rd in two others (I was the #1 seed in one but lost my first playoff game), missed the playoffs on a tie-breaker in the 4th league, and struggled mightily in the 5th league.

That 5th league was partly a few bad moves on my part, and partly injury issues.
