Not really, no. It'd be a completely different product and a completely different financial setup, and it'd require Internet access.

But maybe. Not as "Scorecard" but perhaps something else like it. Whether it is "version 3" or just something we add to version 3 of desktop software... I don't know.

There are already plenty of free web versions of stat/scorecard trackers. A lot of them very good with stats for everything

Hi Erik,

Have you heard of anyone having issues with the sync feature after updating their iPhone to iOS5? I can't be sure but it seems that ever since I updated to 5 I no longer am able to see my computer and sync with my phone. I haven't changed my PC or network setup. Just wondering...thanks,

I haven't. I just synced a round the other day. It sounds like something with your computer, perhaps, and not iOS per se.

weird. I'll keep poking around on my end, then. I guess I'll stick to the old manual entry until I figure it out. Thanks!

Just make sure:

1) computer doesn't have a weird firewall setting

2) both devices are on the same wifi network

3) the computer has the software running and it's "checked" in Scorecard's sync window

Couldn't you just go into properties and change "Windows compatibility mode" of the program you're trying to run if you're on Win 7/8 ?

Anyway, I was looking at this and I'm really looking for a program of some sort that will track my:

percentage of greens hit from yardage of 50-100, 100-150, 150-200 200-250

% of proximity to hole inside 5, 10, 15yds, and outside 15 yards

average first putt distance,

% of putts made from 3-5ft, 5-10ft, 10-15ft, 15-20ft, 20-25ft 25ft+

average distance of second putt from the hole

% of second putt being within 3ft of hole

% of second putt being outside 3ft of hole ( auto calculated based off the previous stat)

plus all the normal stats that everyone thinks are important; FIR, GIR, score, PPR, etc...

I have a feeling I'm going to have to figure out how to make this myself using excel and graphs but before I resort to that, I'm wondering if this program does it or if anyone knows a program that does the above. Thanks for your help.

Quick question about Scorecard. Can you create courses manually or do you have to choose from preloaded courses? I play a LOT of backwoods goat tracks that aren't typically in the databases of these softwares and would love to find a stat tracking software that let's you build the course instead of choosing from pre-built ones.

If Scorecard can't do it does anyone know of a program that would?

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Scorecard has no built-in list of courses.

Perfect. Just downloaded the demo, looks like just the ticket.

It probably will work, if it works on Vista. The person might have to change the compatibility to Vista or XP.

I see that cynicalpeak.com is no longer a viable web site.  I have a scorecard license, but not the original download.  I am migrating to a new computer, and would like to transfer all of my data.  Is there anywhere that I can download the installation file?  Could someone here with the software post it to a dropbox account?  Thanks.

Is there anyway I can still buy the scorecard license?

I responded to your PM, but no, sorry. It probably may not even run on the latest versions of either OS.

    • Is it possible that he writer is full of shit himself? "After months of listening and watching...". Yeah right, cuz that's so normal for writers do that just to get a single article out of the massive endeavor. I mean unless you are angling for a Rant-Pulitzer (Yup, it is a thing.. like, totally).
    • Yea, it is basically a rant with little to no substance. It should have been one of those emails you write to be cathartic, but just never send it. 😉 Except it published it.
    • Someone from support got back to me today. There's an automated response from the email server that apologizes for the wait but honestly one business day is hardly a delay in my eyes. This isn't exactly a pressing issue. Unfortunately, they don't quite understand what the problem is and asked for a screenshot from me so I tried the best that I could to take a bunch through different steps and walk them through the issue. I honestly would just say f*** it and delete the whole round but it's the best I've played all year and I want the stats.
    • Yea and that's a problem, because there are terrible golf instructors out there, but this article does nothing to address that. If anything, it's so bad, I'm inclined to believe the instructor in question isn't really terrible at all.
    • There are plenty of those guys. A guy nearby often has students see him every week or two. The students "get better" during the lesson because the guy says a bunch of things, and they've been hitting a 7I for the past 45 minutes, so they've kinda gotten in a groove. I often tell my students to go away and not come back for six weeks, because that's how long it'll be until they start to see some real progress. (I teach plenty of people every two to three weeks, but they all know they're not going to get something all that new, and that we're kind of in "bumper bowling" mode at that point where I'm just trying to keep them on the lane we've chosen to go down.) The USGTF is a money-making operation. If you're willing to pay them, they'll keep making you a "higher level" instructor. I've known people who can't break 90 who go through it and are "level 3" or something… because they gave them $8k and took two weeks of "training." The PGA… doesn't really teach you a ton about teaching, either. And what they do teach you… let's just say it's not always the best. There are plenty of really, really great instructors… who aren't PGA members. And many bad ones who are. It'd be impossible to actually teach all that you need to know about golf to be a great golf instructor, so that's not as much of a knock on the PGA as you might think it is. Nobody's going to spend six years in the PGA paying $30k/year to ONLY learn about golf instruction. That's what I estimate it would cost to distill and impart and practice the actual "here's how to be a good golf instructor" stuff. Oh boy. I know Brendan a bit. Used to text him. These articles are cringe, and I'd say that to him, too. They feel like clickbait. Yeah… BTW, I may have mentioned this before, but he's a college placement guy. He helps kids find college programs to play golf. He also argued strongly against Natalie going where she is quite happy to be right now. 😉
