my short game is by far the best part of my game, so I try to have as much an advantage as possible
I carry 52 & 60 degree Mizuno tour styles. Have a 56 as well but it's redundant most of the time so doesn't go in the bag.

I usually carry 3-4 depending on which course I am playing at.

Why? becuase on any given day when I am playing with friends or walk in a total practice format, non league, non competitive in any nautre I COULD have any of those 17 in my bag?

Easy enough to play with 5 wedges and 14 clubs in a competitive format depending on the coarse played. I list the 17 available, the wedges never leave the bag.

I was just wondering how many wedges you all carry.

How many of you guys carry lob wedges 60 degrees or more.
Should I keep 3 wedges? I don't particularly hit my woods that well, and I'm decent with my 3 iron. Thinking of adding a lob wedge in place of my 5 wood.

Whenever I'm 50 yards or less, I always seem to carry my ball past the hole with my SW.
That's why I'm asking...

Slowly building my set.

I voted three. This does NOT include my P.W.

Srixon Gap Wedge, 52*- hit it about 100 yards, can hit it 90 if I choke up though.
Nike SV Tour Wedge, 56* - hit it about 80 yards, but never really take a full swing with it. usually don't leave myself this yardage because it's an awkward distance for me. I like to to hit this anywhere from around the green to 70 yards...more of a comfort zone. I feel like I'm swinging too hard with it for an 80 yard shot.
Callaway Big Bertha Lob Wedge, 60* Full swing will go about 70 yards, but I never really take a full swing with this. I only use my 60* for flop shots.

As you can see I am not a big hitter. I hope this helps you with your wedge selection.

Hard to say for sure. I put 3 in the poll. I carry 2 general purpose wedges (52° and 58°), my 56° is only used for greenside bunkers, and my 50° PW is essentially a 10 iron.

personally I carry two, a 52* gap wedge and a 60* sand wedge. I can control my distance pretty well with my sand wedge and can hit it 100 yards if I have to. My gap wedge I can hit up to 120. I really like chipping and the different shots I can hit my with my sw, and being able to control the distance really eliminates the need for a 3rd wedge.

5 Wood: 960 18*

Irons: Titleist 735 Cm 3-PW

Wedges: CG16 60* and 52*

PW 45*, 54* SW and a 60* LW. I'm thinking about buying a 56* and getting it bent to 57* though. I have no use for a 3W where I play so I have room for the extra wedge.

Or maybe I'll buy a 52* and 56*(and ditch my 54*). That would probably be better.

My distances are as follows.

PW - 115
SW - 95
LW - 65

I need a different setup to cover the gaps. I seem to leave myself alot of 80 yard approaches where I'm right between clubs, it's costing me strokes.

So... Why isn't the pitching wedge a wedge? That just seems silly to me as it's called a pitching wedge .

4. PW (47), 52, 56, 60. Covers me from about 130 and in. Though if I get a 2 hybrid/5 wood of some sort it will rotate with one of those depending on the course.

Could go 3 (47, 53, 58), but I'm not bending the 52 or buying a new 58 yet.

I've got 3.

Callaway PW, 46˚
Cleveland CG12, 52˚
Callaway SW, 56˚

Thinking of ditching the SW and going for a Cleveland CG12/14 58˚ or 60˚
