I don't get GC, so haven't been able to watch it, but this is one of the shows I'd watch if I did. Actually, I think I can watch it if I subscribe to GolfPass. I was able to last year, but I'd probably wait for the season to finish and then binge it all. How is this season going? Good info in there?

I've messaged with Chris about this a little.

I've told him it's the best instructional show Golf Channel has aired in years, maybe ever. It's a smart guy, Chris, talking pretty directly with coaches in their language, without dumbing it down too much. The Gankas episode (the first one?) blew through a ton of good info without dumbing it down. The Xander episode, IMO, was one of the weaker ones, as was the Faxon one, because they mostly talked about only their feels. The Grant one was good, and some of the others have had some good high points.

This type of stuff isn't often seen on places like Golf Channel, because they tend to try to dumb things down for the 65-year-old 15 handicapper out there looking to break 90 more often or something, with Blaire both providing eye candy for the dirty old men and playing the role of the instructional stooge.

Highly recommend watching this.

Bet I could do that with a half bottle of pinot grigio.  And then, when I'm done, I could drink my swing aid.

Man, I sure am glad I'm not in my 60s anymore. These days, "eye candy" to me is a full size Snickers Bar. 😋

After seeing this thread I watched several episodes on demand. The first couple, Gankas and the Mike Adams one, as Iacas said, blew through so many ideas, feels, drills and things to try that I started to get lost and a little confused as there are only a limited number of things I can think about (like maybe one?) on a single golf swing. I liked the Jorge' Parada one, the guy at Liberty National, and the idea of putting bubble wrap under your right armpit and trying to get them to pop on the downswing. So the golf drill with Como hitting with a headcover under his left armpit the bubble wrap under the right with "The Hanger" attached to his grip looked silly  - so I'll definitely try that one. I'll surf through some of the other episodes as well. Thanks to the OP for the thread.

I have yet to understand the purpose of the existence of Blair O'Neal on the Golf Channel, other than the obvious. I like looking at good looking women with nice bods just as much as anyone else but she's just a useless distraction. I'm glad she's not on this particular show. (She's probably pouting because she's not.)

Who is your provider?  I have Comcast, you can watch on demand via the cable box or online.

Grant Waite and Dahlquist tonight. This isn't a repeat right? I should subscribe to GolfPass.

OK, so if this helps anyone, here is where you go to watch the show online. There is a 7 day free trial, but you have to provide CC, and it's $10 month to month or $100 a year, there are many other video series to watch. You don't need to subscribe to GC to get this. This is stand-alone. Below is a screenshot of some of the episodes available. I don't think this is the Waite-Dahlquist episode, that will probably be online later. Last year, I signed up to this just for Como's show and canceled after a month I think.

GolfPass is completely different than Golf Channel.   Thanks for the clarification.   I made a bad assumption that with just the Golf Channel membership that Swing Expedition was available.   It looks like it's only available as an additional membership to GolfPass.

Yeah, basically, it's just $10 a month if you finish the free trial. Cheaper than subscribing to YouTube or Hulu or Sling live for a month. But maybe takes a little effort to get it to view on the big tv, laptop is fine for me, although I can throw it on the big tv via ATV.

Almost finished with Waite episode. I had no idea he worked with Mac.

Great show, but mostly because it got my juices flowing again for this wonderful game. I just finished several episodes. The best tip I got from it was when Xander said he has a tendency to see a closed clubface at address as square. It immediately struck a chord with me, and I realized I did the same thing. Easy enough fix.

The Faxon episode was fun because where it was filmed (Old Palm CC) was where I got several Aimpoint lessons and my Edel putter fitted all the way back in 2012, so it was nice seeing that practice green again. Beautiful place.

The Waite episode had a creepy 2010 feel to it. Like really, you're still hammering these same things, Grant? 😂 Hopefully he doesn't read this as I'm saying this in a joking tone, but come onnnn.

Chris Como is definitely a refreshing voice for Golf Channel. I just watched a Martin Hall School of Golf episode and that left something to be desired.

    • No rain while I was out (9am to 11:30am). Fairly pleasant for a late November day in the Mitten.
    • Day 56 - 2024-11-25 Did the BAD Challenge and hit a bunch more other little shots. This was one of the closer shots.
    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲
