I see lots of people recommend the Srixon Q-Star Tours.
Has anyone not had good experiences with them or been disappointed? Just looking for input on this ball in particular.  I’m curious to hear the good and bad reports on this ball.

MGS ball test gave it a "fair" rating:

I like the ball, and think that it's a good match for it's intended audience. Will a ProV1 guy like it? Probably not.

It's a fine ball. I found one a few weeks ago and gave it a whirl. No worse or better than other similar branded balls. Feels a bit on the mushy side for my taste but you might like it for that reason based on your like/dislike. Price not bad I think.

Spend $10/doz. more and get the Titleist Pro V1 practice balls.  They don't have performance issues, and they conform to the rules.  I use them all the time for at-home practice.

Not my favorite  ball. It is okay it just does not work for me. Don't like the feel off the driver and putter. Plus it is shorter than my Callaway Super Soft ball.

I play this ball currently.  It is reasonably priced (full price being $26.99/dz, but I've got them often for $24.99 and even down to $19.99/dz).  This is a good deal for a urethane covered ball.  It plays well in the wind (which is huge for me in Texas) and has a good feel while putting.  I haven't tried the Srixon Z Star but for my handicap (10 ish), I haven't found any deficiency in this Q Star Tour ball.  Note that the 'Q Star' (not Tour) is an ionomer covered ball, much cheaper, and does not compare to the Tour ball.  Hope that helps.

    • If I can take a full swing, I'll use the stock club for that yardage.  I can't really get creative.  Just don't have that ability.  In the past, I used a sand wedge for all my shots around the green, opening or closing the face and moving the ball back or forward in my stance to get the flight I wanted.  I am trying now to use different clubs around the green.  I'm less likely to flub it but I struggle with distance control.  More practice required.

Lots of interesting info and it's very funny.  Lou is one of the hosts along with Greg Chalmers and Mark Crossfield.  They love to give each other a hard time.  Lou catches most of it, but he takes it well and dishes out his fair share.  Great show.
