This course, what can I say about it that hasn’t been said already? Unconventional but not forgettable. And cool tee markers.

TR is a very easy course to score well on if you understand "Decision Mapping." There are virtually no difficult decisions to make, and the targets are often quite big. It is for those reasons that I think the course is over-rated, relying entirely on just how over-the-top it is visually.

This was one of my favorite episodes they've done. I didn't really Tobacoo Road from Southern Pines, Mid Pines, etc. The place looks really cool.

Is Tot Hill Farm similar in that regard? I don't remember much about it, it's been awhile, there were a lot of elevation changes.

The episode itself was great.

I liked TR much better that THF. I thought the greens at THF were not as much fun as TR. There were a lot of greens at THF that you might have to chip on depending on where your ball was in relation to the hole. It might just be me, but I didn't like THF nearly as much as TR.

Cool episode. I've never actually watched any of their other stuff though.

If I ever make it down to the area, I suppose Tobacco Road is one of those courses I should play at least once in my life. I'm not going to call it a bucket list course, though.

Tot Hill Farm, like TR, is a course that isn't difficult if you hit the center of the fairway and the correct tier of every green. That being said, THF has more elevation change and the greens, while subdued compared to TR, have various and angles you may need to hit in order to have a reasonably makeable putt. There are angles and lines that give you an advantage, but, as mentioned, you never need to take on risk to shoot a ho-hum 72.

All that being said, I hit one of the best shots of my life there that would never be advised by anyone who wrote a book about scoring. 😉 Probably about a 2% chance of success.
