JD continues to get exemptions because hes popular and brings crowds to events that normally wouldnt draw. remember that JD is the one guy capable of putting up 90 and then the next day shooting 63

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

Butch-at least with the common courtesy and with his reputation should have had the repect and decency to call John Daly and tell him about the split man to man...Instead Butch decided to let loose his ego and publicly humiliate the guy...I dont know about you but if this happened to me i wouldnt want to find out by reading about myself in the local paper the next morning. I mean the least he could have done is texted J.D.

And I would suggest that a little public humiliation is, at this point, warranted and perhaps required. JD is surrounded by enablers who do everything they can to hide John's gaffes from the public.

And Butch has to look out for himself, too. Who knows what kind of B.S. would have spread had Butch not taken the route he took.

No, he's not, and lately he barely gets the chance to shoot the 63 the next day because he either fails to show up, he withdraws, or if that "next day" is on Saturday he's already missed the cut.

JD is a draw for negative reasons. He's a circus act. Hell, he's worse than inviting Michelle Wie to your event - at least she tried and didn't crap on sponsors by WDing, suing, or failing to show up for a pro-am.

Didn't Wie have one WD - and then showed up practicing a day or two later?

Still, it was - to the best of my memory - a one time thing and not a pattern of behavior. And I agree with the overall message: if you give Wie an invite, especially to a men's event, she's going to show up and give it her all.

On the LPGA Tour. I was suggesting that sponsor's exemptions for Wie on the PGA Tour were less of a waste than giving them to JD. And they were a waste on Wie, so that tells you how I feel about giving them to JD.

Also true.

Whereas John won't, and may even sue you a year later for it.

Right. I knew I was missing a detail. Thanks.

does anyone know what JD has been up to since the Arnold Palmer event?..where is he playing next?

Not Puerto Rico ; he was invited but declined? I'm not sure I remember the details.

Watching Daly play golf and live his life is a bit like watching the Jerry Springer show. You want to turn the channel but you also want to see what is going to happen next. Heck, he might be on one of these days.

Now THAT is rock bottom.

I still love watching Big John off the tee box. I just think he sucks with the putter. It almost looks like he could careless about that part of the game.

Is Mr. Daly toast? Yes, burnt with no butter.

I dont think JD will make the cut...Although the Zurich is a tournament i thought he would have done well in considering his length off the tee

Can JD make the cut in New Orleans?

He hasn't posted a score for the 1st hole today (Friday) yet, so I guess it's fair to offer my opinion at this point.

Yes - he can make the cut, but, I don't think he will. After the 1st round he was T-73 (or something in that area) & was right on the "projected" cut line. It will take a pretty good round today for him to make the cut.

I have a hunch he will make the cut, looked like he had a double bogey yesterday on a par 3 though...

    • Day 521 - 2026-03-06 Got some good work in for 15 minutes or so with someone overseeing. Downswing work.
    • Day 201 3-6 Wider backswing trying to blend it all together for a full swing. Not looking good yet.
    • Day 74 - 2026-03-06 Backswing work out back at the net. Slow.
    • Day 101: did a stack session. Worked on hands down in the mirror during breaks.
    • Got told off yesterday for doing full swings and full speed swings so went to the range this lunchtime and did some slow speed stuff and freezers. A few videos from my session.    First few are DTL then some FO This one is of me looking at the club on the way back. I think I get my arms lifting all the way back, not that you’d know because YouTube keeps glitching on me.    Second one is two slow backswings. This glitches the first one but the glitch looks like a pretty good position so I’ll live. Second one works. Then another swing back and hit. When I’m not watching or really focusing on it it seems that my upper arm doesn’t lift at first, rather stays roughly where it is and I add the lift at the end so the club comes a bit more inside. I think that’s what I’m going to focus on. This one glitches a bit too but it’s really just pausing. This shows the club coming a bit more inside but not as laid off at the top Then a couple of face on ones And lastly one smoothie and one freezer at normal speed  Quite happy with how this went. I can see my arms are better when I take it slower. Also while I’m still pitching my arms out it doesn’t seem to be as extreme as yesterday. Light at the end of the tunnel 🙂
