I’d watch it - I mean, I watch less interesting things than that...although it would frustrate me that I should be able to beat both of them, yet I wouldn’t be getting the million.

I'm okay with Tiger and Phil coaching the guys but don't like the idea of them being a "lifeline"... playing some shots for them.

Also, now that the tour is back in action, I'd see it a a novelty TV event for the Christmas season, when the Tour is inactive.

To take it a step farther, make it a series like survivor where 32 equally matched golfers compete on the Golf Channel. The highest scores from each round go home. Fewest putts being one of the tie breakers. Keep cutting the field until only 2 are left. Then the big match where the winner takes all. Add a lot of personal background information and show the players personalities. Get the viewers involved so you have someone to root for. That, I'd watch.

... and show them afterwards (for only 3 minutes) at the 19th hole discussing the round and how or if their coaches helped them.

I'm on the fence on this one.  I like the idea of hearing Tiger/Phil/etc. advising how to play a shot, etc. but other than that it is a game show.  I liked The Big Break but that was not hackers and part of it was hoping to see someone go from obscure person to potentially a big-name pro.  I can watch hackers any day at any course. Please understand, that if I were selected to play I would be 100% on board.

15 handicappers can have a lot of variance.  With only two competing I think it would be maybe a  50% chance that one of them would run away with it which would make it less than interesting.  Unless they modified the scoring to more heavily weight the later holes.

I wouldn't watch a match between two 15 handicappers playing for $10 of their own money. Not interested in watching some random guy who doesn't play golf very well win $1,000,000 because he was less bad than some other guy.

Of course, adding big time golfers as coaches, "lifelines" etc ... makes it a more attractive package.  Still, it is two mediocre golfers flailing away for 4+ hours.  No thanks.

I wouldn’t watch even with Tiger/Phil as their coaches/lifelines. I think it’s never as good as it could be with golf exhibitions and am always let down.  I loved Big Break also and wish they would bring it back. I think more original programming would help the golf channel.

You bring up a good point.  It should be a 9 hole round... match play.
