Thanks, @ncates00, for a light discussion item during the Mitten's recess from golf. At 68, I continue with the dated collared shirt, plain shorts/pants, USGA hat "look". Fashion has passed me by. If I attempted to wear what Ricky Fowler and others wear, I suspect I would look a bit ridiculous. I don't miss the old look, it never left as far as I am concerned.
Similar to #3, I'd suggest bringing your old club(s) (6/7 iron or driver). Some golf stores with launch monitors may buff the results a bit to make it appear you are getting more distance. But, if you are comparing to the current clubs, you will see the real change. I've had several people at my course complain that they just bought new clubs because they were going 15yds further in the store. Then on the range, they went exactly the same distance as their old clubs.
with the "traditional attire thread" started, figured I'd bump this one. How do you feel about shorts on Tour for competitive rounds? do you even care?
After what we saw from Alex Smith, I'd say nothing is out of the realm of possibility. But as others have said, I think it's highly unlikely that he's ever a competitive golfer again.
Edit: Now that I've scrolled through the rest, I see I'm not the first to bring up Smith lol
