Sorry ladies but this is for the guys.

If you had a chance to play with a local semi-pro woman golfer would you want to and would you like it?

Well for me I played with a semi pro at my home course and I knew that she was a scratch before the round started. I say hey that would be fun to play with someone good and they can give me a pointer or two.

After the first 4 holes I was fine but then the 5th hole was a blow up hole for me and she birdie...suddenly I felt embarrased and angry at myself. Well you guys can figure out the rest. I started to resent playing with her as the round goes on and I strated to say...well she get's to tee off much close than I do and so on :(

I guess it just deep down man thing which I know I should not feel like that but I couldn't help it.

What was your experience?

It would be awesome. I've played with women who were a little better than me, but not scratch by any means. Women who golf are sexy for some reason.

I got to play a couple of holes with Carol Mann at a corporate thing.
We won one bet each but she would have beaten me by 15.
I wish it had lasted all day.

I have no problems with playing against a woman that can beat me. I'd be upset, though. I hate losing, male or female.

I think I recently found the next best thing - a woman who enjoys smoking and watching golf on television...SHES A KEEPER!

But to answer your question, YES of course I would love to play with someone better than I...regardless of age or which tee-box she hits from.

I have no problem with it...it would be fun...the tour guys did it when sorenstam almost made the cut

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

I wouldn't have any problem at all with it. I don't like losing to anyone, but as long as they are fun to play with I don't care what sex they are. I'd much rather get beat by a talented woman that is courteous and respectful to the course and those around her than play with (win or lose) some jerk that makes an ass out of himself for 18 holes.

IIRC, she missed the cut by 4. +1 and she was +5, I think. I don't know if I'd call that "almost made the cut."

At any rate, I wouldn't care if a gal beat me, from any set of tees. I really don't care if anyone beats me (if I'm not playing against them). Golf is usually a very individual sport. I just want to do my best.

Okay, just so you know, I'm the lone "No" vote at the moment, and it was a mistake. I meant to hit "Yes."

As long as she doesn't get pissed off at my lack of skills, sure - I'd be happy playing with just about anyone (that isn't a pain in the ass, of course).

Never played with a woman, belive it or not. But I guess that will change once I figure out where to play in northern new jersey. South Jersey women appartleny dont play golf, at all.

I would have no problem whatsoever. I've played with women before who I'm sure beat me, although I didn't know them. Once I played with a man and his wife (possibly girlfriend). He played from the reds and she from the blues. The other guy and I were at the white tees. She was always the closest to the green after tee shots on par-4s and par-5s. The one hole where red had a huge advantage in distance the guy topped his tee shot.

I took a friend recently to the driving range and, when she bought her glove, the salesman told her not to hit it past me. I told her to hit it however she likes.

Yes

I've really only ever played (golf) with a woman once where we kept score to see who came out on top. She had a two shot lead on me through 7 (wasn't taking it easy on her) and was laughing hysterically. I went par/birdy to finish the 9 we were playing.....she stopped laughing as she finished bogey/double to finish 2 shots back of me.

She was quite hot too.

    • Rule 1.2b refers you to a section in the Committee Procedures (Section 5I) that helps explain what a Code of Conduct may (and may not) do.  Defining acceptable behavior (including smoking) and applying Stroke of DQ penalties are certainly within the Committee's authority. That Code of Conduct certainly should be available, either in written form or in a webpage accessible to all.  It may not show up on the "standard local rules" for an organization, the "hard card", as it sounds like its a policy of this particular golf course. Assuming that's the case it should show up on the Notice to Players for this particular event.  If you can't find it, ask someone, send an email, try to find out.   In summary, yes the Committee can DQ (or withdraw) a Player for smoking, even before or between rounds.  But its up to you to go from there, communication is the key here.

    • Hmm... I not sure I completely understand. If the course has a no smoking policy, then he shouldn't smoke at the course.  I'm assuming since you are aware of the policy, it must be written down somewhere.  As far as getting disqualified from the tournament, I would think that would be up to the committee. But it feels like it is within their power to disqualify, so why take the chance?
