Also, please bring an extra $20 for some games. I'm thinking:

  • $10 quota game ($120 - so $60, $40, $20)
  • $5 net skins
  • $5 gross skins

Please send me via DM your GHIN # or some sort of "proof" of your handicap. If you don't have a handicap index, just don't be scummy and give us a good estimate. Please also let me know what tees you'll play.

The skins are self explanatory. The quota game is a GROSS game because you start off with the same number of points as your handicap:

  • Bogey - 1 point
  • Par - 2 points
  • Birdie - 3 points
  • Eagle - 5 points
  • Albatross - 1 quadrillion points

The tees are:

  • Black - 6756 yards - 72.1/124
  • Gray - 6387 yards - 70.1/122
  • Blue - 5923 yards - 69.4/120
  • White - 5266 yards - 66.7/113

https://gleneaglesgc.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/2019-scorecard-verision.pdf

I'll make a spreadsheet and will make up the cards the day we play.

Oh good. Between playing 10 strokes above my index lately and my back, I’ll be sure to make this donation.

I think I've found almost everyone's.

@Carl3, just need your FIL's estimate, and Matt will get back to me at some point today.

OK, here is the scoop. His estimated running average at his home course is an 83 to 84. He plays the forward tees that have a 68.3 rating and 113 slope, 4,850 yards (narrow fairways). A good top 25% score for him is like an 81. (anticap, close to his handicap). So my guestimate is like a 14 or 15 index. Not long off the tees (less than 180), but he never loses a ball.

I would want him playing the white tees (5,266 yards) or he will not have any fun.

@boogielicious, @Divot Master I don't mind playing any tees. Maybe I follow your lead on that? My father-in law will want to play the white (5,266 yd) tees.

Either Blue or Gray for me. I’ll look at the course and see. Usually I look at the par 4 hole distances. I drive it 220-230ish. I’m not getting any younger!

What about HI adjustments?

-1 if you have played this course more than once

+2 if you have snow on the ground in your front yard right now!

Me, too, at times. And 80 yards to the right.

I’ll probably play from the Black tees for no good reason.

Well you do live in Buffalo after all!

Looks like there are lots of houses we can hit too! Has anyone played here?

If I hit any houses I’m blaming it on @RFKFREAK.

Don't worry, they can just sue the course 😛

I need a handicap index. 82 off 68.3/113 is about 13.7.

That sounds good. He doesn't have a GHIN.

I would lean towards playing the Gray, unless the course is very wet, or the weather is cold or windy.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
    • I have access to far more data (including surveys and polls) than you do with your anecdotes. I mean this as plainly and literally as possible: you’ve demonstrated that you do not. They would, one way or the other.
