Titleist 907D1 - a reward for myself at the end of the season last year for consistently starting to shoot 12-14 over par - now thinking about trading it in for the D2, I actually liked the D2 better but on a friend's recommendation (he's more into the technical side than I am) bought the D1 for like 150 dollars less than the D2. Now regretting it...

MP-67s - because I went ga-ga at the shop when I hit them with the Project X 6.0 rifle shafts

MPT 51 and 58 degree wedges - had the cleveland rtg 56, 60 and an old 52 degree gap wedge, because I am vain and wanted my wedges to match (I actually also gauged distances and the 51 and 58 made total sense and felt great when I was hitting them)

TM agsi daytona 1 - I change putters like all the time but I decided to choose based on feel, look and stroke. I even got help while I closed my eyes to test putters without looking at name brands (I woulda been inclined to try to buy the scotty cameron - I know, sad!) and I just loved this thing.

New Ogio SSchling Bag. Awesome. I actually walked more than 4 rounds already.

Walter Hagen shoes - oddly enough I didn't like the expensive name brand shoes, these felt awesome right out of the box - $50.

My only excuse for buying all this stuff now? I am a gear head and actually didn't play much golf since 2001 - before law school. Now I make time to play and am really trying to get down to a 9 or so in two years.

My best buy has to be gym membership - golf workouts 2x a week, regular workout 2 other times... let's see what happens!

My 2008 season began over three months ago, but I'm buying new irons soon enough. Not because it's 2008, but because I'd rather have irons more fitting my ability.

they aren't really snobby; just over-privelaged. I still like them as people, and I don't blame them for thier parents decisions. I'm not sure there is a 16 year old alive who wouldn't take free stuff from thier parents.

yikes. There is no way that is worth the price. I once bought 6 588s for that money(not for me)

I purchased four hybrids, all Cobra Baffler Pros, #1-4. I did not need the 4 but it came with an Accra Hybrid Shaft. It costs me $28, A STEAL. If I end up hating it, it was a $28 mistake and not $270.

I also purchased a backup set of irons: Wood Bros. Really nice blades with Apollo Stepless Shafts.

My irons (wedding anniversary present from the wife), putter (birthday from parents), wedges and driver were all new in May/June/July last year. So nothing major so far for me yet...

Actually, got new golf shoes and a dozen NXT Tours after investing a number of balls in various lakes around the courses in Dubai.

This years wedding anniversary is looking to be a new driver, 3 wood and hybrid to replace my 905R (artistic differences so parting ways) and Callaway Warbird 5 wood (due for retirement). Plenty research time before July though...

I just ordered some 2007 Cobra FP's 4-SW from TGW... they should arrive tomorrow. They are the first real set of irons that I have purchased. The last few years I was using a hand me down set of Golden Bear GB-72's. I played a lot last year and really improved my game, and don't think I can get any better with those clubs. So, I hit almost every club out there last year from the major companies and had it down to the X-20's and the FP's. After hitting them back to back I couldn't tell much difference, so I went with the one that wouldn't lighten my wallet as much.

    • Day 206 3-11 Focused on wider backswing and reconnecting arm in downswing. Wasn't really happy with how swing was looking today. Wider backswing is very different for me. Went back to do a some longer pauses at the top. Hit a few foam balls.
    • This is an awesome breakdown. most of the bigger tournaments usually have one wave with the advantage, Thank you for the breakdown. If it is soft then it will be a lower final score
    • Over the past 15 years, the winning score has ranged from -10 to -20. Mostly around -13.  Here is Thursday and Friday weather. Saturday and Sunday weather. I think the course will play soft. Plenty of sky cover, lots of rain on Thursday. Fairways and greens will probably stay soft throughout the week.  In terms of tee times, I think Thursday morning and Friday afternoon have the biggest advantage. • We have a very difficult but mostly showy course this week. Lets see what they got. This course offers so many chances to get into trouble it is really a mental minefield. I am excited to see who can handle it and who cant. Last year we got a foreshadowing of JJ and Rory, I am excited for this year Who do people have winning? what will the winning score be? I am thinking 12 or 13 under
