Just stopped at Academy sports and found four boxes of Bridgestone E5 balls for $4.99 apiece. Score! I normally play V.26. Hopefully I will like these just as much, but I could not pass them up for the price.

last night i stopped into Golf Galaxy and picked up a box of Maxfli U/3s and U/4x's to try out today.. then i also picked up a box of Titleist NXT Tour S too....

It is what it is

Not from a B&M; store, but I'm returning my Harrison Striper H2 shaft that broke over this past weekend for a warranty replacement. And while dealing with them, I ordered a new shaft for my fairway wood, a Mugen Black 70. Loved it in my old driver, interested in trying it in a 4 wood now that they have a 70g option.

You should think about replacing your 4w with a 3H. At 18 degrees you wont sacrafice any distance but maybe 5 yds and youd have more control and straighter shots off the tee or carpet.

An old pro once told me this....."No matter what youre going through in life....Never sell your golf clubs."

Nope. I don't get along with hybrids what so ever. I've tried a couple and I'm fine with fairway woods and irons.

A frigging awesome Ping G20 4-wood which I am thoroughly enjoying as it has improved my long game for sure. When I hit it pure the ball sails a long way down the fairway.... I had some credit and it was on sale as the G25s are out so it was not that big of a hit to the billfold.

Strongly considering them myself, lots of good reviews, but need to try out the jpx 825 and ap1 as well!

I picked up some G15 irons and a G20 driver. Wasn't really sold on the look of the G25's for some reason. Ended up getting the 4-AW black dot ( after a fitting determined that was what I needed) for $399 and bought the G20 driver for $199. Don't think I did to bad.

A new pair of UA Cold Gear pants. I have a pair that I love and they're still in great shape....but have become 8 sizes too big on me.

Optic orange e6 balls, & optic yellow rx balls, winters coming and I play either dawn or dusk, I can squeeze a couple of extra holes in with the orange ones in the evening!

Anyone with experience in ordering clubs with shafts other than the stock - Do you have a time frame of how long it takes?  It's been 10 days since my order was put in and still waiting to hear they came into the store.  I'll be honest they said it was quick then I call 5 days later and they said it usually takes 10-15 days, so I guess i'm right in range. Still I'm dying to get my clubs and get out and play.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
