Well last night was a great start to the 2024 NFL season. Two top teams matched up equally in a good shoot out.

I didn't know they were going to enforce formation penalties like they did. At a certain time, Baltimore got a warning, then two consecutive penalties illegal formation. I think Harbaugh asked the ref, just tell him he needs to move up. If that is the case, then train your players better. Sometimes WR will check with the ref since they are far away from the center. It is the tackles job to be lined up correctly. If you knew these were going to be called more strictly, then it is poor head coaching that your players were not ready. Stop crying.

I do think Xavier Worthy is going to be a problem. He just looks like he has another gear that most other players do not have.

Yep.

And teams are told about areas of focus in the pre-season. Many teams will bring refs in to officiate scrimmages and inter-squad things.

He’s always been a whiner.

Any thoughts?

Not sure I agree with this. I think Fields is doing good. The team is 4-2. I am not sure Russel is any better. Last year by QBR, they were basically the same player. Two years ago, Russel was just BAD. If you want to take prep time away from the guy who got you to 4-2, just to give a guy who has been injured a shot, I think it is a waste of time.

Hey, I do not watch them every weekend, but maybe some Pittsburgh fans can chime in.

It could be to exhibit for trade bait.   Some teams may be looking for another QB (Miami) and if Wilson plays well, the compensation could be large.

No. The Steelers aren't paying either of them very much. They're not gonna get rid of a SB winning QB in case Justin is injured or something.

The messaging from the Steelers before the season was that Wilson was going to be the starter. It shouldn't be that much of a surprise that they'd want to give him a shot once he was ready.

Being from Ohio, I root for our old Buckeyes including Fields, despite his current team.  He's always been perceived as not quite a good enough passer to make an NFL team a playoff contender. That's why the Bears let him go. I'm not sure how much better Wilson is at this point, but he's got that pedigree as a passer that Fields never has had.

They are different style quarterbacks, so if they really do start Wilson, it will be interesting to see how cohesive the offense looks. The NYJ defense isn't exactly a soft one to start with.

The Cowboys looked elegant against Detroit the other night. Solid performance. So glad we still have Jerry Jones or we’d really be in bad shape.😒

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
