Including your PW...

I'm using a 47º PW, 52º GW & 58º SW/LW. When i get fitted, i think i'm going to go with Nike SV wedges...the black satin finish. I really don't know...i have to get fitted first lol.

Adams A3 PW 47
Mizuno W 56 deg.
Adams A3 GW 60 deg.

I do need a 52 deg. W for the in between shot. And will be getting it soon.

Sorry Of topic*

I just got my Custom clubs a week ago and all i can say is WOW!
I didn't go to a big box store but a small specialty place just for club fitting.

New setup: Mcgregor MT 460 driver with 17 Deg and 23 Deg. hybrids
Irons: Adams A3 irons 5 through GW

My previous Handicap was a 12. With the new clubs i have three 18 rounds of
79-80-78 and a nine hole round today of 38, 5 pars 3 bogeys and a birdie.
If my putting was better i would have pared this last round.
I hope i can get even better.

PW, 52, 58

I use my PW or 58 for anything around the green. If I'm not playing a bump and run from the fringe (with the PW), I've learned to do anything else I want with my 58. I use my 52 only for approach shots. No need to confuse myself with anything more than that. I think this hole fad of 4+ wedges is for the birds. I think one should be more concerned with hitting greens and making birdie putts, rather than getting up and down for a par.

I carry four, because I do like a lot keeping constant gaps between them.
So,

PW 46º
GW 50º
SW 54º
LW 58º

I do most of the pitching and chipping with the 54º, and mostly use the 58º for lobs and from the bunker

I think this hole fad of 4+ wedges is for the birds. I think one should be more concerned with hitting greens and making birdie putts, rather than getting up and down for a par.

I have to agree with this - I added a lob wedge to the bag and found it was confusing and harder to use and also if I open up the face of my 56 I get the same loft more or less. Lob wedge was promptly removed. Having LESS wedges HAS encouraged a smoother swing and better tempo through having to learn how to execute 3/4 swings and 1/2 shots with my PW and A (gap) wedge and also left a little room open in the other end of the bag for adding a 3 iron or different hybrid for certain courses with par 3's over 200 yards. but like the great Clint Eastwood once stated "Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one"

I use the 54 and the 60 around the green. Only using two clubs keeps my mind from getting cluttered with all the different option.

    • Day 12: stole about 10 minutes in the garage, doing my drill with foam balls.
    • Day 116 12-6 Still working on getting to lead side. Tonight I also tried some skill work with clubface awareness.  Hit foam balls.
    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
