Guys,

I'm going to give away a free copy of Scorecard to anyone who writes the best mini-review. If it's one sentence, fine. If it's three or four, fine. Even five or six might be okay, but keep it SHORT.

Ideally, you'll be writing the review based on the use of the demo. If you have a license already, and you are chosen as the winner, I'll allow you to give your free license away to someone else.

Contest closes... whenever I say it does. I dunno - either after 15 or 20 mini-reviews are posted OR when a few days goes by. I'll announce the winner here and in that other thread for the winners.

To try the demo, click http://cynicalpeak.com/scorecard/ and download it.

P.S. Note, a new version - 1.3 - ships soon, but don't wait for that before writing your mini-review or the contest may close first.

After researching and trying many of the golf statistic programs out there, I am really amazed at how simple Scorecard is to operate. Having a product that is user-friendly, while still providing all the neccesary data needed to fully analyze a round, is a sure fire way to take your game to the next level.

Earlier this year I decided I wanted to keep my golf statistics to show which part of my game are helping/hurting the most, but refused to spend any money on it. Well, at first I figured I could do it pretty easy using Excel, and after a few hours of tinkering with it, it kind of worked. However, after a few rounds I got sick of tinkering it a little every time and moved on to a few different free websites, which, again, worked alright, but weren't much better than Excel. Then, one night while reading this forum I started reading the Scorecard thread, and realized right away it was exactly what I was looking for (It looked even good enough to spend money on!) So, at about 1 a.m., I purchased it from the Scorecard website, but for some reason there was a problem with my PayPal account, so I sent an email to the people at Scorecard asking for help hoping I would have a response from them when I woke up the next morning. Well, about 5 minutes later I had a response from the technical support at Scorecard with a solution to the problem. Definitely the best golf statistics product I have ever used, and by far the best customer service I have ever experienced!

I've decided, by the way, to let Alan pick the best review. I'm probably too close to really see the entries for what they are.

Keep posting - contest is still open.

P.S. You can post a few times, and I don't know what Alan's looking for, but I'd probably suggest something that didn't just sound like a slogan. I've asked for reviews , not slogans. Our slogan for the app is already "Understand your game. Improve your game." Yeah, it's not great, but it's the slogan.

Here goes...

Amateurs often throw away strokes without knowing where or how. Whereas other golf data-tracking programs merely provide a hint of where valuable shots are lost, Scorecard pinpoints these lackluster areas with comprehensive data and shows you what facets of your game you must work on the most. Rather than suffering through a clunky homemade number-cruncher or an error-prone data collector, you can use Scorecard easily and efficiently. Perfect for golfers of all skill levels, Scorecard quickly becomes an integral part of your game.

definitely easy to use and easy to enter rounds. The stats screen is easy to use and is a greast one page summary. My only issue is that it doesn't easily support 9-hole rounds of golf. (which is probably 50% of my play). I probably wouldn't buy until this functionality is created.

Scorecard - the only golf program ever needed. Simplicity at its finest, enter you scores in, break it down. This program is as simple as some may like it or has many features which enable a player to really examine their game. Through this program you will take strokes off your play, see areas for improvement which will allow you to become that tour player you've always wanted to be inside. Through Scorecard let your inner pro out. At first I was amazed, it has broken down my game, showed me I needed to work on my short game eventually knocking digits off of my handicap, I defiantly recommend it to everyone who loves golf and is trying to improve

Scorecard is an excellent tool for any player looking to keep better track of his or her game. Scratch, stat obsessed and high handicappers alike can all appreciate the clean and user-friendly interface that hampers most of the free web-based utilities, and at under 3 MB, this application leaves a small footprint on your hard drive.

Scorecard also allows you to keep track of an insane amount of information about your rounds. Aside from the standards (putts, greens in regulation and fairways hit), the program also gives you the option of keeping track of sand saves, up & down...and for you masochists, there is even a little box to enter the amount of penalties you incur.

The $30 price tag makes this a worthwhile purchase for players of any level who want either a more logistical analysis of their game or just an easy way to catalog their scores and calculate their handicap.

Scorecard's clear concise interface tracks and displays EVERY stat you could want to review, in a user-friendly way that even the computer-challenged can appreciate. It's in-depth details prove to you what parts of your game are lacking and need work, even if you can't count on yourself or your friends to give you an honest breakdown of your shortcomings.

lol I agree, the whole thing could be the slogan... Scorecard: Understand your game, Improve your game... It's not great... but it's a slogan.

I started from scratch with the demo and within 15 minutes had entered 3 courses and 2 scores. I found the whole program fairly intuitive but when I was stuck the help was more than adequate to answer all my queries. Not only is it easy to input but the one page stats overview is clear and doesn't leave you blinded by science. Well worth the $30 upgrade for the licensed version.

Scorecard is a great, simple programs for golfers of any level to keep track of their scores and statistics...

It takes the rocket science out of keeping your stats so you don't have to guess on your stats. It also shows where your inconsistancy is and shows you where to improve...

I downloaded it, and it was so easy to use I had two courses and two rounds in within 10-15 minutes... It so easy, even the computer illiterate can use it...

I recommend the ScoreCard Software to ANY GOLFER it will improve your score.

Scorecard is the most detailed, organized, and efficient golf score tracker I've used. I have been tracking my golf scores for years and this is the first one that has actually made me excited to update my handicap. Kudos to Scorecard and thanks for another great way to make golf a great sport!

I love to hate this damn game.
