Some do....some don't.

Just wondering how many you sip while playing.

I generally don't when I'm playing solo (usually on foot), but may have a couple with our groups.

None for me. I know some guys like the "swing lube" effect but for me it wouldn't take much to interfere with course management.

One at the most and only after the first nine. I'm not a very good buzzed golfer and don't enjoy it.

I'll drink a beer on the course if it's really hot because cold beer and hot weather seem to go together. But just one, then I go back to my water . . . especially when it's hot.

depends on who I am playing with.
Solo - when I am done I might have a couple if I grab a bite.
With a group, non league, as many as everyone else does
league-after we are done, with the guys I played with.
With dad/best buds- as many as fits in the cooler!!!

Someone once said that Tiger, when he entered the clubhouse at Augusta National, saw one of the masters player drinking a beer. He walked by him and said "If I had YOUR talent, I'd be drinking a beer too". And that's why I will never drink alcohol

It depends on who I am playing with. I haven't had a beer while playing in the last 10 to 15 rounds. I usually walk and drink water. After a round, I may grab a beer while I tally up my stats, but usually not more than one. I have a buddy that I play with sometimes where we'll have about 2 to 3 for the round. One time we each had a 6 pack, and by the time we got to the 16th tee, we were pretty stupid. One or two beers can help my game sometimes, after that it's downhill. Several beers = me going for it on every shot: cut the corner, carry the water, etc. I usually save the beer for afterwards.

I picked "Never", but that isn't an absolute. But I very rarely drink anything but water or a Diet Pepsi until the round is finished.

The restaurant in the clubhouse has a deal for Men's Club members where the price of the first beer after a round is the same as your score for the round... for me that's usually $.80 to $.85, so that's a deal I rarely pass up.

I hope that story isn't true. Unless Tiger was joking with a player he knew and was friendly with, because otherwise it makes him sound like a dick.

I totally depends with me. For my birthday recently, I had a gift certificate for the local country club for a foursome. I took my best friends with me... we had coolers of PBR on the carts as well as a pint of Maker's Mark. It was a great day! I'd say that 75 to 80% of the time, I don't drink anything but water or a sports drink. Sometime a little swing lubricant can help, but you have to be careful of the point of diminishing returns

I checked never, but I'm not opposed to having a few on the course, I just rarely do it.

A month or two ago I went out to play 18 early on a Sunday. I was walking and the starter paired me up with a twosome riding. They were good guys and we had a good round, but they started drinking beer on the first tee. I just can't see getting much enjoyment out of drinking a lot of beer starting at 7AM. I guess it's the principle of the matter but I've got to wait until at least the afternoon before I start drinking. I know some guys though who just think that having a few beers and golf go together and to do one without the other just isn't as much fun.

Definitely depends on the day and the group I am with. I play with some guys who only drink a couple, and some who may drink a case. There may even be some marijuana along the way too.

It really just depends.

95% of the time, I may have 2 or 3 but that's about it.

Of course, the game is supposed to be played on grass.

I voted for 5.
I always take 6 with me. I try to save one for the ride home, but moochers sometimes prevent it.
I never, never drink before noon. (noon in London)

I never drink on the course.
I think this is a very cultural thing, I don't know anyone in the UK who drinks on the course and have never seen anyone drinking on the course.

Many people have a drink in the clubhouse afterwards, but this is not for me.

I used to drink a lot between the ages 14-21 and I've just kind of grown out of it, to a point where I rarely drink these days.

    • Day 35 (15 Dec 25) - Short session today focused on exaggerated weight shift using left heel trigger.  Hit a few pitches using the process to help capture the feel.
    • Day 125 12-15 Half swings with flow drill. Focused on rhythm, loading trail side then getting to lead side correctly. Hit a few foam balls but mostly drilling without ball.
    • Never practiced golf when I was young and the only lesson ever taken was a driver lesson. I feel like I'm improving every year. However, the numbers don't support my feeling about improving. I usually drop to 12-13 during the summer while playing the familiar courses around home and then go on golf trips in the fall to new courses and increase to end the year between 15-17. Been a similar story for a number of years now but hey, it's the best thing there is in life so not too bothered but reaching 9.9 is the objective every year. Maybe a few lessons and practice could help me achieve it since I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing, just playing and never practice.
    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
