Just mapped out the distances for all of my clubs at an HDGolf sim site.

I'm a 64 year old newbie w/only a 80-85 mph clubhead speed w/the driver; range of 60-80mph with the other clubs.  Smash factor is in the 1.40-1.45 range w/the driver; less w/the other clubs as is to be expected.  So, it seems I'm getting as much impact out of my swings as I can and the only way to really get more distance is to figure out how to swing the clubs faster.

Here's what the computer says I'm hitting, based on the top 10 swings; degree of loft (where available) in parentheses:

Driver (10) -- Range: 182-213; Average: 195; Carry: 164

3 Wood (13) -- Range: 159-204; Average: 179; Carry 131

4 Wood (17) -- Range: 156-168; Average: 152; Carry 120

4 Hybrid (25) -- Range: 127-170; Average: 150; Carry: 129

5 Hybrid (30) -- Range: 131-147; Average: 136; Carry: 129

6 Iron -- Range: 132-151; Average: 141; Carry: 118

7 Iron -- Range: 123-143; Average: 133; Carry: 113

8 Iron -- Range: 114-131; Average: 124; Carry: 101

9 Iron -- Range: 104-127; Average: 113: Carry: 105

PW -- Range: 102-129; Average: 114; Carry: 90

GW (52-8) -- Range: 84-104; Average: 96; Carry: 90

LW (60-4) -- Range: 61-79; Average: 73; Carry: 69

SW (56-10) -- Rance: 50-75; Average: 59; Carry: 53

The distances aren't long but I wouldn't expect them to be given my lack of experience and lack of clubhead speed.  I think the high bounce of my SW affected the distance on the astroturf.  In theory, should hit the SW longer than the LW.  Shojld get longer distances w/the SW on grass where I would be better able to get "under" the ball.  Might buy a low bounce 56 to see how it compares.

Otherwise, the clubs cover all of the distances w/o any significant gaps.  Oddly similar range, average and carry figures for different clubs are due mainly to lack of consistency in hitting; figures should change and become more distinct for each club as my hitting improves over time.

Mine have changed drastically. And until I can fix my slice...the big sticks will struggle.

Our driver to hybrids and 52/60 are almost exactly the same, but I'm about 1.5 clubs down on all irons. Except I need a 3i for your 5i, 4i down to PW is almost like your 6i to AW. I just played in FL after some rains, and now I know all about plugged shots. All the landings are about a yard from the ball.

Same...I've been losing about a yard from my carry distance lately lol.

I have strong lofted irons too, so the numbers look skewed. When I went from my Slingshots to the RocketBladez, I had to club down for everything. My 5 iron used to be good for about 180-185 max, now if I smoke one it'll carry 200.

Home course here had 5 inches of rain Wed and another 2 Thursday and Friday. I feel your pain. Friday was rough. Lots of plugged balls. Greens were great though.

The greens in FL are really nice and smooth. The best I've played. :-)

I am not totally certain, but these are what I consider are my carry distances.  Distance control on flat terrain is pretty good, so I would assume the distances are pretty close.  Hitting it left or right of intended target is another story.

Driver       220  with roll about 235+/-

17* FW     205  with roll about 215+/-

3 Hybrid    185  with roll about 195+/-

4 hybrid     175  with roll about 180+/-

5 iron        165

6 iron        155

7 iron         145

8 iron         135

9 iron         120

PW            105

GW             90

SW             75

LW             65

I'm a bit of a sweeper/picker, so irons tend to be weak.  I'm working on getting my weight forward and shaft lean, and I'm noticing my irons are starting to fly farther.  When the changes stick, I expect I'll be able to adjust the distances.

I found this calculator that estimates your average, mishit, and well struck distances for each club based on your average 5 iron distance and a few questions. I don't know how it works but it was shockingly accurate for me. It's pretty interesting

On average my distances are

Driver- 275 to 295

3 wood-230-245

5 wood-220-235

4 Iron 215-205

5 Iron 205-195

6 Iron 195-185

7 Iron 185-175

8 Iron 175-150

9 Iron 150-135

PW- 135-115

52 W-115-95

56 W-95-75

60 W-75-1

This is what I play each club at granted I have a high swing speed and usually hit pretty hard but accuracy is my weak point. But I am not exactly a small guy and can use my size and strength and smash the ball I think. But thanks to driving which is my strong point it helps out on scores.

Hmmm you may want to check that 8 iron cause it has 2 1/2 times more distance variance than most of your other clubs which is kind of the opposite of what happens, your longer clubs will have a wider range than the shorter ones, basically you only have 3 clubs that cover the most common "scoring" distances 115-175.

Interesting app, I found 182 for my 5 iron seems spot on matches for my 7 at 153 which is the correct number, however my 9 iron and below distances are on average at least 5 yards longer, it could definitely be stronger lofts in my set or I need to back off on those irons a little.

my problem is The clubs I used to have only had regular flex shafts and I couldn't swing my lower lofted clubs harder because I bought my clubs used and for some reason the 4-6 irons were stiff and the 7 through pw regular. I just ordered some mizuno jpx 825s with the s300 shafts so will be updating the distance. I have also only been playing golf for about 4 months and am still trying to figure out my distances 100 percent. This was just a good estimate. I have a high swing speed and got fitted and am currently awaiting my jpx 825's to get my distances dialed in.

Seems accurate aside from my driver/3 wood. Even when I put "big slice" as my shot, it gives me too much credit lol
