Schlaflys Imperial Stout & their Barleywine ROCK! I bouight a case ( they're magnum bottles @ 9.99 ea) of the Stout last 2 years. I think i have 2 -2007's left and 6 2008's.

Boulevard Smokestack Series is great as well. Love the Long Strange Tripple and well as Sixth Glass.

DFH 90min IPA is another.

And if I'm not feeling like any of those delicious beers and am going more for quanitiy it's good 'ol PBR!

I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

In my bag todayâ¦.

I occasionally enjoy a nice, cold PBR.

I like just about all porters and stouts.

My tastes are fairly low brow, I suppose. I like the brews that are easy to find in the local supermarkets: Bud Light & Bud Select, Heineken Light, Corona Light, Amstel Light, Red Stripe, Killians and Sam Adams.

Generally every 3rd six pack with be one from the rotation listed with the mainstay being Bud Light.

Coors Lite
Heineken Light
Sam Adams Summer Ale

Like dub, I don't get too deep into beer. As long as it tastes light and clean that's all I need.

Life is too short to drink bad beer!

Some of my favorites include:
Samuel Smiths Winter Welcome Ale
All three Chimay beers (Yummmm)
Guinness
The old standby Fat Tire

I like beer with some flavor. I drink beer to enjoy the taste. One general rule for me is if I can easily see through it I don't want to drink it. I don't drink to get drunk anymore so I have little use for the domestics like Miller, Bud, and Coors. I would rather just drink water than a light beer.

One of the liquor stores next to my house has a huge selection of microbrews and fantastic imports and they let you make mixed six packs so you can try several different kinds. I go buy a six pack every few weeks so I have some good beer around if the mood happens to catch me.

I was in Ireland last summer and completely fell in lust with Smithwicks; but, of course when in Ireland one MUST comsume copious amounts of Guinness, so I did that too!

Low " Octane " list includes : Sam Light, Killians, Corona ,

Mid " Octane " list includes : Sam Adams Lager, Smithwicks, Sam Adams Summer/Winter ales

High " Octane " list includes : Sam Adams Cream Stout, Guinness

Seasonals : Shipyard Pumpkin Head (anyone in New England, I encourage you to try this one) and Shipyard Bluepaw (Blueberry Ale, perfect for summer grill sessions), Sam Adams WHITE Ale (the only reason I put this in seasonal is because you can only get it for like a month between the winter and summer ales)

Worst beer I have EVER Had: Arrogant Bastard Ale ... that was horrible (sorry to those of you who are fans of this ... )

yuengling

I've heard a lot of great stuff about Yuengling, but you can't get it north of like Penns. So when I get down to NC this year my goal is to try some of this brew.

Schlafly's, good stuff. Didn't have it until I went on a business trip to St Louis last year. Can't remember which of their brews it was but it was so refreshing out on the terrace of our hotel in the baking heat!

Dogfish Head is probably my favourite microbrew, though it is growing pretty rapidly. There are a few Alehouses in Northern Virginia where you can get a lot of their beers on tap, my wife and I have had weekends orientated around that We also like trying their Craft Brewed Ales selections. Some are better than others, Fort (18% ABV) was bleugh but the rest have been excellent. Their '07 Festina Peche was REALLY GOOD, best served whilst sailing in 100+ degree weather...wasn't so impressed with their '08 Festina Peche. Their 90 and 60min IPAs are great year round drinkers, the 120min IPA is good but in small doses!

I also really enjoy Dogfish Head... My bro lives in Chicago and turned me on to that stuff. Any min IPA is great and yes, the 120min is great but I also advise to drink it slow. A six pack of that and most any good drinker is done.

Miller High Life and various Leinenkugles (Honey, Berryweiss, Big Butt, Sunseat Wheat). Sapporo is pretty good too. Its a Japanese beer that tastes a lot like Miller Lite.

I just tried some of their light brew....lager style. I simply can't believe this much flavor for 99 calories. Very good brew.

    • I've played the Tour in both white and yellow.  They play well and seem to hold up pretty good even when running into trees or cart paths.  Right now, I've been trying them against the Bridgestone Tour B RX ball and I really like both.  The Snell 3.0 looks to be a great update to the issues Snell was running into with the previous generation.

    • Day 128: 5/3/24 Spent 10 minutes chipping and putting at The Creek golf course after visiting a relative.  Greens are slow, and I putted quite well. Perhaps I should seek courses with much slower greens!
    • Not to take away from the OP's question but the Snell 3.0 is about all you could ask for in a ball. I'm not a paid spokesman and my opinion does not reflect on the owner of the site. Lexi Thompson could beat most people with a Top Flite, or a Nitro. Ben Griffin? He doesn't offer a lot of street cred so I'll pass. Now if Fat Perez or Heavy Ballesteros start using it then?????? 😀
    • Just read that Peter Oosterhuis passed away. He was the one and only celebrity I have asked for an autograph! In September 2007, I was in the Charlotte Airport awaiting a flight reading my October 2007 Golf Magazine. It was during the FedEx playoffs and Tiger had just won the previous tournament with the Tour Championship the next event. I watched the event listening to the dulcet tones of Peter Oosterhuis, among others. I opened the magazine, and started reading an article about Oosterhuis and the opening picture had him posing as James Bond in a movie’s opening sequence. I looked up from the article and he was sitting directly across from me!    I approached and showed him the article and asked if he would sign the photo. Mr. Oosterhuis asked “Are you keen on golf?” When I responded positively, we spoke for about 10 minutes discussing the fact that both Phil and Tiger had won FedEx events prior to the Tour Championship. He was very gracious and a wonderful storyteller. I was saddened by his battles with dementia and missed him on CBS’s telecasts.
