Hi guys,im looking for a new putter as my odyssey white hot 2 ball blade is a bit too firm and ball is flying off the face!! Can anyone recommend any putters with soft faces/inserts??

I recently tried the cleveland VP1 putter. they are SOFT. When i first started using them, i was leaving it short by 3-5inches.

Inserts don't get much softer than the Odyssey white hot putters imo. Maybe try a Ping i-series or Taylormade with the agsi insert, both are good value putters and very nice too.

I agree there. Putting with an odyssey white hot is like using a pillow to putt. The new Cleveland VP putters are soft, but nowhere near as soft as the Odyssey.

My Yonex ADX putter is the softest I have felt, but its a forged blade putter.

Mazza, How old is your 2 ball putter? My White hot XG is a recent model (bought in december '08) so maybe the latest inserts are softer than older models.

Ive been using a taylormade burner tp ball which pro recomended due to how hard i hit the ball!! My 2 ball is about 2/3 years old so maybe new ones are a touch softer!!

I was impressed with how soft the Mizuno Bettinardi BC1 putter was. The new BC lineup has the same face and feel so just find one that has the style you want. Also most of them can be had on ebay for around 125$.

If it's any value, i have the sabertooth XG from odyssey and it's rediculously soft...anything over 20 feet really and the thing is like hitting with a question mark, touch and feel go out the window...i converted to that from a ping karsten anser and if i play a course with big greens i use that instead...perhaps it's the weighting or something in the sabertooth that does it but...my goodness

      Feeling a tiny bit more upright, more width, and a slightly faster tempo. Still not enough confidence to bring a square face set up to the course but will get there one day. Interestingly, it didn't take this long to bring the driver square set up to the course. Its is like rehabbing my ankle all over again. Slow, painful and wanting for patience. I guess this is how you fill this bucket - one spoonful at a time.
