Ok.

he played with the regular VR irons when he returned including the win

True, thats exactly what we said.

and now he is back to his VR prototypes which he played since 2-3

Wrong.

you are thinking hes playing those previous VR blades like in this picture, but no, they have no V... Here is a picture of the ones you think hes playing, but isnt. http://blogs.golf.com/equipment/2009...-memorial.html He is not playing VR's bro. I have personally looked at his bag and they are not, regardless of what you read on the internet. The irons you describe hes playing are the older ones..or the like being extremely similar. He even had "T" on his Titleist 680 forged blades, I think it's cause his name is "Tiger".. wink wink seriously this is kinda goofy. who cares really? I was just shedding light since I have attended the memorial the last four days and seen them up close. They say they are almost identical to the VR's anyway with cosmetic changes that look like the originals..so there really is no telling..I will get as close as I can again today to look even closer. I got it...hes playing prototypes, that are like VR's..but cosmetically look like the original blades. win win!! sweet! Its more interesting to me him changing lofts again on his driver, and wow his accuracy is really improving..

dude that's what i was telling you all the time... prototypes don't look like the final stuff. that's why they are called prototypes. They don't need to have a BIIIIIG V on them to be VR irons. These irons are the VR irons just not with the finish and stamps on it

jeeeezuz and next time you start fighting with me, try to get your facts straight. http://www.titleist.com/historical_c...ails.asp?id=35

I would continue to battle wits, but I win by default.

You sound dumber with each post. Let it go man. I'm done explaining, let's stop wasting the forum posts, send one of your dumb comments to a PM instead and I'll read them when I need a chuckle..

peace out.

I think Cink dropped the VR clubs as well (he was playing them right?). I'm pretty sure he's back to Nike CCi forged irons.

Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement for Nike VR.

so seems like you get pretty unfriendly when you are wrong. thanks god i know i'm right. no problem still laughing about that 680 with the T for tiger haha

Whatever you think about what Tiger's equipment change means about Nike Golf, it's safe to say that the change worked out well for Tiger. He hits every fairway in the final round, and leaves a combined 6 feet for his birdie putts at 17 and 18 to shoot 65 and likely close out the Memorial. Dominant Tiger is back, at least for one day.

In my UnderArmour Links stand bag...

Hybrid: 4DX Ironwood 20° (stiff graphite shaft)Irons/Wedges: Apex Edge 3-PW, GW, SW (stiff shaft); Carnoustie 60° LWPutter: Rossa AGSI+ Corzina...

And Nike is going to make way more on the One ball than they will on the V irons anyway. I think Nike is happy.

I think nike would rather see him win, than bitch about what clubs hes hitting. He is their star #1 money maker and he hasnt done much all year.

What a stupefyingly moronic comment.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

So, I think it might be safe to assume that this will be his Bethpage bag. Maybe part of it was confidence in the trusty old blades, even if they were a nearly identical club. I think Nike would paint up his irons like Vr's but the look might mess with his head. As the old saying goes (for any sport): "You look good, you feel good. You feel good, you play good."

The change also seems odd to me because i thought he was hitting the new irons very well... it was putting and driving that were killing him

I dunno - I remember at Doral he said he was having trouble gauging correct distance and trajectory on his approach shots and at The Masters hae was way off, too.

My friend, they say nothing about him using the vr's to win the memorial, just the dyno. They just say that he carries them in his bag

All this talk about Tiger's clubs! Not a mention of his lucky shirt. It was the shirt that was the difference. He messes around with our heads with all these equipment changes, purely to disguise the fact that his real secret weapon, is the lucky shirt.

He's not fooling me though. I'm gonna get me one of them lucky striped shirts. Now do you think I get the small or the medium????????

You're on to something... looked to be the same one he wore at Bay Hill, no?

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
